Hi ladies! I used to have an account on weddingbee and was a regular prior to my wedding in June. I haven’t been on in a while, but you all were so nice/insightful when I was wedding planning so I’m wondering if you can help me again.
Darling Husband and I had unprotected sex on Sun, 11/9 or Mon, 11/10 (can’t remember which day exactly). I’m pretty sure I ovulated the week after we had sex (TMI – Cervical fluid was thick and there was lots of it that week, plus my sex drive was higher). I think I usually ovulate late because it’s usually less than 2 weeks before my period.
According to my charting app I was supposed to get my period on Mon, 11/17 but I still haven’t gotten it. Not even spotting or light bleeding. I have been regular every month since I went off BC in April except for last month (no period, but I was under a lot of stress at work so I figured that was why). I did change my antidepressant on Tuesday 11/18 and my psychiatrist added 20mg adderall to my medication list, but that was after I was supposed to get my period.
My symptoms have been similar to PMS symptoms (extreme fatigue, dull cramping, nausea, headache, lack of appetite, sore lower back), except for 2 things: 1. No period and 2. My nipples in are killing me. I’m used to having sore/heavy boobs when I have PMS, but my nipples are perky all the time and they’re incredibly painful. The areolas are also larger than normal.
I have taken pregnancy tests every morning when I wake up for the past 3 days and they have all been negative. I even bought the FRER for today’s test because I heard that one is the most sensitive but it was also negative.
So with all of that said, here are my questions: do you think I am testing too soon? Do you think the negative tests are correct and I’m just having a weird month with my symptoms? Could my change in medication cause a missed period? And finally, are blood tests at the doctors office more accurate than urine tests? I would love your thoughts!
