I just received a loose Amora Moissanite and to be honest, I’m bummed that it appears slightly yellow. I have a regular unenhanced stone in a pendant and they look pretty similar to me.
I had purchased this stone with the intention of swapping out my .25 carat diamond for a .75 amora moissanite. Now that I’m looking at them I can’t quite decide what is more important to me… Do I keep a (in my personal opinion) small diamond that is a great quality stone, or should I go for the barely noticeablecolor of the Amora because I can upgrade the size to a .75?
I really wanted to get a larger stone but it would seem like a big waste of money to spend over $3000 for the stone that I would want when I can get a moIssy for $300.
So I would love to hear other opinions about what is more important to them. It doesn’t have to be Moody’s specific, just in general would you go for size or colour? Thanks!

for me, definitely size, but I love warmer diamonds anyway, J or K even, so the amount of warmth in a moissy would never bother me.

For, me I care more about the color.

Revise your poll because the options to vote are missing. I’d stay with the small diamond if the color of the amora bothers you. By The Way, did you check the price of the bigger diamond on blue nile?

@NovaRising: This is a good idea! A 0.70 diamond, Ideal cut, H color and SI2 clarity is about $1800. They have some inexpensive settings, too. There’s one, same specs but VS2 for 2300.
ETA: The difference between the 0.75 and the 0.70 is about .05 mm in diameter. For the savings, I’d go just below the 0.75 (if you go diamond) to avoid the jump in prices at the major carat weights (.25 / .5 / 0.75 / 1), etc..
ETA2: I found a 0.75, Affinity cut, G, VS2 for 2600! on Adiamor.

I like warmer colors too, but I would say go with the stone whose color you like :). You’ll be happier with higher quality in the long run.

I am partial to diamonds, so I’m going with color over size.

I would go down to an H for a bigger stone but no lower

I love color in my diamonds. I personally don’t like clear, white diamonds. I’d rather have a larger off white, yellow or champagne diamond.

Color is the most important to me – I told my husband (back when he was my boyfriend!) that I liked diamonds as close to colorless as possible, and he outdid himself by getting me an E color diamond 🙂 It it a relatively smaller stone, but I love it! I think it is a very personal decision though – if the yellowness bothers you, I’d stick with the diamond.

I prefer color over size. I do not like big rings that are cloudy. I would rather a smaller diamond that sparkles over a big dull diamond.

My ring will have an ideal cut, .73ct, VS2, J-colored stone. It’s so sparkly and well cut that I can’t notice any color in it at all.

you answered your own question
Go for the moissy. If you think the extra money on the amora was a waste see if they will exchange for an reg moissy.
