Ok so I’m reading all of these different ring terms on here and I really don’t know what most of them mean which makes me feel quite dumb, haha. I went to the jewelry store, pointed at a ring I liked, tried it on, tweaked the style a bit, and that was that.
Here’s mine, tell me in “technical terms” what it is:
Feel free to post a picture of yours and describe it to me too! 🙂

looks like a round halo to me

I agree with “round halo”.

So halo refers to the channel of diamonds around the main? That makes sense, duh!
Ok, so what the heck is a moissy (sp?) ring?

Round stone in a halo (the stones going around the stone form the halo). The band is a semi-eternity (the stones are only on the top half of the ring). The stones are prong set (meaning each stone is held by prongs whereas channel set the stones are held by strips of metal and there are no individual prongs holding the stones). I could not tell you the color, clarity or carat weight of your ring from a picture.

moissy is an abbreviation for moissanite, which is a different stone from diamonds.
