Not engaged yet but coming up soon!

we have already had the discussion and at this stage have decided on a long engagement, our current savings are going towards moving states and once we have done that we want to regroup and decide where to get married (in which state) – so it just makes sense for us to hold off and avoid that stress until we are resettled.

We’ve been engaged for 5 months so far and don’t have a wedding date yet lol. I think our engagement length is going to be 1-2 years. Reason is because we’re currently house hunting and we want to wait until we have a house to pick a date because depending on how much we have left over after the downpayment is how soon we could have a wedding. If we find something under our budget we’ll have plenty for a wedding in a short period of time after, but if the house we end up really liking is more expensive, we might need at least 6-9 months to save up for the wedding.

submart:  He proposed in May 2015… and we wanted a Summer wedding but summer 2016 is not working for us and we also need longer to save the $ so summer 2017 it is. We’re still searching for our venue so the exact date is still up in the air… it will be most likely end of June-early July (my dream wedding date is was 7/7/17) but it may not happen. So it will be a 25ish month engagement!

We were engaged about a year. We didn’t have a reason to have a longer engagement, but we did want time to cherish our engaged time and to allow our families to plan for attending our wedding since they lived far from us.

Around 18 months. May is an important month to us and we got engaged in February so it wasn’t enough time to plan the wedding we want. I also just want to have time to enjoy being engaged.

submart:  It’ll be a little under 11 months for us. We wanted to do our wedding before I turned 30 lol. Also because we really wanted to do our ceremony and reception outdoors we didn’t want it to be too hot, so we decided on the end of August when it is still pleasant outdoors but not scorching hot.

Well we got engaged Feb, which is kind of the end of summer in Aus. We wanted a long time to save for wedding and for people in England to book flights ect. We wanted at least a year, but it ended up being 26 months away from when we got engaged. People will have no excuse not to come lol (my huge family live in England and will all have to travel, FI’s are here)

Exactly one year. Wedding date was determined by feng shui expert as being an auspicious day for our wedding.

We got engaged on NYE and our wedding in Sept. 15th. We knew we wanted to marry on that exact date and didn’t want to wait a whole extra year. We are having a solo wedding away then having a celebration dinner at home when we return so it really hasn’t been much stress planning. Right now I’m in the blissful stage where all the really important decisions are made.  It’s a really nice spot to be in 5 months out.

20 months. We got engaged in October of 2013, and both knew we wanted a spring or summer wedding. So, we had a choice between 6-8 months or a longer engagement. We chose a longer engagement, as it would have been all but impossible to get vendors and a venue in our city on that time frame. We booked our venue 17 months out and they only had 2 remaining dates for the spring/summer of 2015! So, for us, a longer engagement was necessary.

Holy crud, I am well off the chart with that poll haha

By our wedding, we will have been engaged 7 years and 9 months! Crazy long time but we just couldn’t afford to do it any earlier. Life has got in the way a LOT for us with employment issues, health issues, family stuff etc. There have been times I have felt like I was going crazy waiting for our day but now it’s approaching, I feel truly 100% ready to be a wife!

Ours will be 8 months. We got engaged in October and because I’m 40 and we’d love children, we didn’t have much choice but to make it short. We needed a few months for preparations and we wanted April or May so it would be spring here in the UK.  Also those months match up with auspicious dates in his culture and their ‘wedding season”. I am impatient to test our fertility but I’m trying to relax about it- I waited this long so hopefully a few months won’t be too muvh.
