What does resort chic mean to you? That’s the upcoming wedding dress code. I was going to wear this…but planned to bring a back up dress which I just now realized I forgot to pack. Grr. I guess I could skip out on work early to grab it with just enough time to make my flight. (Note, DH is in wedding party, teal matches the teal embroidery on their cuban style shirt.)

Casual and summery but still chic. Think maxidress, silk sundress, gold jewerly, cocktail ring, chunky necklace, wedges.

@kay01: TBH I’m not 100% sure either but that dress is beautiful and that’s something I’d chose to wear for resort chic as well:) such a pretty colour!

That is right on target. Wear it! (unless it’s really similar to what the bridesmaids are wearing, then buy something)

@jmarvellous: No, they are wearing something light blue (or so I was last told).

resort chic – no shorts, no old flip flops, no hawaiin shirts (men). smart causal basically
nicer sandals. maxi dresses. nicer sundresses
looks fine to me!

Your dress is perfect!
I think the bride said resort chic to deter those who would wear shorts, flip flops, jeans etc.

@kay01: Sundress or capris and blouse. What you have picked out looks great.

Thanks everyone! My husband is particularly grateful he’s not trying to run back home to get the other one thanks to your reassurances. We’re off to the airport now.
