I feel like it depends on your age and area. In my 20s I never saw high school friends at or above a carat but usually not below .5 ct but I am from a HCOL area. In my 30s I never see college friends under a carat and rarely under 1.5 ct (other than heirlooms).  I did go to a top 10 school though so they do tend to be more affluent, it’s going to depend on your circles. I feel like the larger rings post more here (if you’re going big you’re going to show it off more) so our view is skewed but probably most people are going to be <2ct still.

newbee5 :  I’m 25 and mine is only as big as it is , is because the ruby as a loose stone was gifted to me l. From there it was custom made. If I had went the diamond route I don’t think I would have liked one over 1ct to be honest. I’m a tiny person and already think my 2.6 may be too much at times

Mine is a 1.85ct natural diamond, but my guess is the average here is around 1ct (.75-1.25).

My centre stone is tiny – can’t remember exactly but less than 0.35 (I think it was either 0.33 or 0.25). It’s surrounded by a halo though (more like a cluster).

I think data on bee is also skewed because a lot of people have gem stone rings like sapphire and a lot of people have huge moissanites while in real like I don’t know anyone with either. I think of lab diamonds as real diamonds but I know a lot of people don’t which also skews things here because people here do have lab created which also in real life no one has told me that they have they might who knows

Mine is 0.75 exactly, so not sure if that’s closer to 0.5 or 1!
