I was surprised at how pricy this is!  I live in a major city so I was expecting to pay a lot, but the hair is what really caught me off guard.  I have a hair stylist and makeup artist coming to my hotel near where they live/work.  Makeup is costing me $150 total (including eyelashes) for the trial and wedding day, which I think is pretty reasonable for my city.  (I maximized this by having the makeup trial before doing our engagement photo shoot.)  Hair is costing me $75 for the trial and another $150 for the wedding day – yikes!  I’m not even having my hair washed/dried or doing a fancy up-do.  Oh well, I don’t think there’s any way around it unless you know someone.

I scored an awesome deal at a local salon:

This package includes:
*Practice style for bride (prior to wedding day)
    *Wedding style for bride
    *Makeup application for bride
*5 styles (can include flowergirls, mothers, or bridesmaids)
*5 makeup applications (can include flowergirls, mothers, or bridesmaids)
*Muffins, juice and coffee for bridal party

So only $58.33 each girl for both makeup and hair!! Other salons in the are charge $50-80 for hair and $30-50 for makeup.

@princessggg:  I was quoted the following prices from 5 different companies for my hair and makeup only: $165, $350, $170, $600, and $250.  The trial prices ranged from $0 (included in the $600 one) to $160, with most trials averaging at $125.

So, I’d say your $215 is a pretty good price, depending on where you’re getting married.  But the $195 for a trial is overpriced.
