I’m all about eating a banana 20-30 minutes before I go to the gym.

i usually work out first thing in the AM because I know that I am too tired at the end of the day to really work out. So, i dont eat before I work out. 🙁 But I would say a banana is a good idea.

I usually eat a banana or a Zone bar before heading to the gym.  The double dark chocolate is my favorite.

I also don’t eat before I work out, I workout as soon as I wake up. But afterwords, I make a protein shake to help with muscle repair and I have some eggs or fresh fruit. and lots and lots of water

@LRin2011: A handful of pretzels and a small piece of cheese (1oz) is what I eat if we’re out of bananas 🙂

I have fruit-today it’s an apple. Anything else makes me too sluggish or is too  heavy before working out.

@MacFaniam24: Special K Protein Bars actually have a smaller amount of calories than most protein bars and are tasty! I’d give that a try (you can get a big box for a decent price at Sams Club, Costco too I’m sure). I haven’t found one I thought tasted bad.

I usually eat Nature Valley granola bars.  Just one bar though.  They come two in a pack.

I either have a banana or half or a nutrigrain bar. Sometimes I put peanut butter on the banana. I can’t eat too close to working out though or I get really bad sideaches while I run.

I like to eat any kind of fruit. Apple, oragne or banana. Or sometimes I will eat a handful of almonds.

I always eat first!  Protein and fiber!  Whatever you want or like- a smoothie with fruit veggies and yogurt, eggs and whole wheat toast…

I work the overnight shift and usually drag myself to the gym right after at 730a so I eat one of the Planters Heart Healthy nut packs- gets me throught the 2 hour workouts with the mix of protein and good fat!
