My future SIL’s Mother-In-Law has a 7ct center stone diamond ring. Every time I see her, I find myself staring at her ring!! LOL
Average size for the area where I live is probably .5-1ct. as we live out in the country. In-law’s do too, however, they are much closer to a larger city than we are. I would say there the average is probably 1-2ct.

I saw a 0.75 once. I’ve seen bigger ones in the shop.
I would guess that the average is around 0.4 or something? Maybe less.

I saw a lady that came into my work once with a 4 ct diamond. My jaw dropped what I saw it!

I live in Toronto and I used to work in the beaches, its a very well off area with a lot of stay at home moms with lots of large rings, a lot over 2cts. I worked in a photo printing company and woulld often interact with the ladies but I didnt know them personally.
In my circle of friends/social circle I would probably have the largest stone at 1.30.

@mrsmay07: I’m with you; I have never seen a halo on someone’s hand IRL. Only on the Bee.
Oh, and I guess average size around here is probly .75-1 carat.
Mine’s 2.01 (that .01 is essential lol). So it’s probably on the large size. In fact, two of the women I work with don’t wear ERs or WBs at all (even though they are married), two have just bands (diamonds and sapphires), one has a traditional solitaire that’s about .25 carats and one isn’t married. I’m def in the minority at the office.

We have an antique family heirloom ring that was my kind of Grandma’s. My real Grandma wears it now, and it’s about 3-3.5 carats. It looks freakin’ HUGE to me! My mom has a 3 stone antique ring from the same grandma too, and it’s about a 2 carat cushion cut (it’s actuall kind of an odd cut, i wouldn’t say it’s cushion, but it’s not quite oval either) in the centre with probably 1 carat on the sides. Also pretty darn gorgeous.

Mine is the biggest I’ve seen IRL and it’s a moissanite, so super sparkly! It has made me self-conscious enough to get a smaller solitaire for everyday wear. I have a 0.85ct cushion with a halo. I’m also the only person I know IRL to have a halo ring. Everyone I know has about 0.3 – 0.6ct round solitaire, or a small three-stone. I love having a unique ring for special occasions, and a smaller solitaire for every day 🙂

@dontknowwhattodo: probably just a little larger than mine (mine is total ~1.7 carats)
i believe my friend said hers is a 1.2 center stone with almost a carat of halo & side stones, so around 2-2.2 carats total. i’d say average in my area is from 1.5.

Most of my friends are right around 0.8ct-1ct, mine is in the 0.8ct category. I’m sure I know people who have larger, I just dont really pay attention. I own on that’s 1.18ct but it’s not my ering, it’s an heirloom.

I work in a jewellery store, and the biggest I’ve seen on a customer is 2 carats. Out of people I know personally, everyone is under 1 carat, and most are around 0.3 to 0.5.

One of my friends has a center stone that is almost one carat. I have a couple Facebook “friends” with larger stones but have never seen them in person.

26 carats. Saw it at a gala and got one of our friends to go up and ask her how big it was.

Two of my friends have 3cts. I find myself staring at their rings when they talk and move about with their hands. Lol.

One of my coworkers has a 6 carat total weight wedding set.
Her engagement ring is a 3 carat center stone with a half carat on either side – so 4 carats total
Her wedding ring is 5 stone half eternity band – about 2 carats total weight (she’s not fully sure).
ETA: Most of my friends have about 1 carat. That’s about average for here – DC metro area
