Hi there my sister-in-law is a teacher in Texas. She is asking what the law is regarding the time allowed for breast feeding. Meaning how long she has to pump. I know that they have to provide you with a private area to do this. But beyond that I can’t remember from my HR days

I believe the current wording is a “reasonable amount of time as needed,” meaning she has as much time as she needs, as often as she needs to do it. There aren’t any specific time limits on how long or how often she can take breaks, but it only provides breaks for up to one year of the baby’s life. They also have to provide her with a private space to pump, other than a bathroom.
