My Fiance and I are going to put together a wine list ourselves — we’re both really into wine and we’re excited about introducing our friends and family to our favorites!

Nejirita, I live on Oahu and love the Byodo-In!  Do you live here too?

I am excited that our reception will be outside under gorgeous old trees with lots of "twinklies" in the branches.  Dancing will be under the stars!

Also, our reception venue has accommodations, so most of the Out of Town guests will stay there all weekend!  We are having a hay ride, a bon fire, a horse shoes tournament, etc!  It’ll be like going away to summer camp with all of my favorite friends and family members!

1 – had a Destination Wedding and all the guests got to enjoy the gorgeous Bermuda beaches

2 – indoor fireworks went off when the Venetian dessert table was revealed

3 – our first dance – my husband is a non-dancer and managed to pull off the dancing

4 – getting a videographer and having the wedding highlights done.  I loved it!

so much fun!

what is most special to us is that our dear friend will be marrying us, another friend will be playing live music for the ceremony, we’ve got 5 up and coming photographers at the wedding and our closest group of friends will be joining us to perform tango for our guests (we’re all avid tango dancers and most of the group are tango teachers).  ๐Ÿ™‚

1. His vows

2. Our Same-Day Edit, courtesy of Red 5 Studios, was super fun to watch (you can hear his vows!):

Hmm … my Fiance and his groomsmen are wearing kilts!  I’m really excited about this because it’ll be fun and fairly unique.  The groomsmen are wearing all black kilts, and Fiance is wearing his really pretty light blue and green Stirling tartan.

This is such a great thread.  I am super jealous of so many great ideas ๐Ÿ™‚

For our wedding I’m most excited about:

1. The old-school photo booth!

2. The Tastykake buffet we’re having at the end of the night, with little cartons of milk for each guest

3. The groom’s cake that I just ordered as a surprise for Mr. Cupcake (sshhhhh!)

4. The Gocco’d welcome bags that I made for our Out of Town guests

Fiance and I went to the same college, and have the same group of friends.  At every college houseparty, our friend would break out his guitar and harmonica and always end up playing Piano Man for us to sign along.  We convinced him that it would be a good idea to perform it at the wedding for a massive sing along ๐Ÿ™‚  I know all of our college friends will totally love it, and its such a great song that almost everyone knows the words (or at least the chorus).  It should be fun.  Another thing that we’re doing (that I think is cool) is having a special dance after the cake cutting.  Right after we feed eachother, the DJ will announce that the groom has a special dance for his new wife.  We’ll go out to the dance floor and Springsteen’s "Jersey Girl" is going to play.  Its special to us because we’re from NJ but lived in IN togther for a year and now live in MD and all of our friends (from other states) always make fun of our accents.  "Jersey Girl" is now my personal anthem ๐Ÿ™‚  Its something special just for us.

I’ve got 5 days left and can’t wait!

  • The groom’s cakes are both of our patrol cars with little flashing light bars on top of them. I’m so excited and can’t wait to see them, he has no idea as to what they are.
  • The candy buffet is probably one of my favorite parts, I’m still trying to get more candy!! lol
  • My FI’s favorite part is the nacho cheese fountain that he insisted on having. We will be serving nachos, pretzels and taquitos with it.
  • I also love the kids table I am doing. I put together kids packs of candy, a coloring book that I made, puzzles, games, glow bracelets etc. There will also be a cupcake stand on the table.
  • My sister is singing "Bless the Broken Road" for a special dance that I am dedicating to my new husband and I will change into the surprise dress that I got for him! I am very excited to see how he likes it.

We’re doing a Same-day-edit as well!  We’re leaving it as a surprise for our guests.  Everything else is just traditional… including a lot of the borrowed ideas from Wedding Bee!

We’re having a weekend wedding with yoga on the morning of the wedding.  Also, I’ll arrive to the ceremony in a horse-drawn carriage and we’ll depart the ceremony in the same.  We’re also on a river, so there will be lots of swimming and playing!

We’re getting married on the rooftop of a building downtown, with great views of the city skyline and river.

Our photographer will do same-day-edits of photos from the ceremony and project them during the reception — I can’t wait to see them!

We were able to buy all of our alcohol at wholesale, so we picked exactly what we wanted for wine, champagne, and liquor, were able to go top-shelf on everything, and it still feels like a steal! (We’ll get the beer right before the wedding.)
