I loved that one of the (three) weddings I’ve been to had a campfire. That was pretty great.

These are all great ideas! I really want to do a champagne fountain (where you stack coupe glasses up and let the champagne cascade down to fill them all) but I’m afraid it could either be really cool, or really messy/ a let down… I wish I had room in the budget to recreate some of these really amazing moments that people are sharing!

Bacon bar, taquero, caricature artist and photo booth ONLY if the photos stream to a screen during the reception.

What fun ideas, maybe people will keep posting on this one.  Some stuff I’ve seen:

A friend got married at our university alumni hall and the mascot came and hung out at the reception (like a guest).  He sat at our table for a few minutes, danced with guests, etc.

The best man gave a speech and said now that the couple was getting married all the guys in her lives needed to give their keys back, and about 20 or so guys (guests) came up one by one to drop them off on the table.  The he said anyone who has a key for the guys place come up and just one GUY did, his old roommate.  It was really funny.  Before it started he gave my then boyfriend a key and filled him in.

Another wedding, in France, had a cake made of maccaroons.  They were stuck to the sides of a huge cone with icing.

I can’t really think of one stand out thing that we did. I did get compliments on our ceremony and vows, which we wrote ourselves, that we had fun music (60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s), that our venue was really beautiful (b&b on a small pond) and really good food (made by b&b owners).

at my friend’s venue they entered their reception through the floor! An elevator rose from the floor and they were in there dancing and cheering. It was cute, but obviously you would need to have a venue that has this!

I have one friend that not only did father-daughter dance, but also did a moter-daughter dance. That was cute and left people crying.

definitely going to follow so I can hopefully find some wow ideas for my wedding next year!

Commenting to follow. I’ve seen some unique things that aren’t listed here, but I selfishly don’t want to add them until after my own wedding. Stay tuned!
