This might offend people but they’re DH’s words, not mine.

“Since we don’t have any close children to us, maybe we could have midgets be the flower girl and flower boy.”

If I’d given the green light on that, it would have happened.

My DH thought it would be funny if my cell phone rang during the ceremony. He was trying to get one of the guests to arrange to call me. I told him I wouldn’t have my phone that day, and he relentlessly tried to get me to do it, until I finally had to put my foot down.

He also thought it would be funny to stage an ‘objection’ to our marriage when the officiant asked. Luckily, the officiant shot him down on that one.

My fiance suggested a Stanley Cup cake (we are having a Pittsburgh Penguin themed wedding). We laughed about it at first, but then after considering it seriously and contacting a girl I went to school with who has her own baking business, it’s going to become a reality!
She’s building a Stanley Cup shaped cake and making cupcakes with silver icing and silver wrappers. I am SO geeked.

Some of his less popular “ideas:”

* mini corn dogs and pizza for the food

* wearing a lime green tux with alligator shoes

* having his doofus friend do the photography with a disposal camera

^ these were all jokes of course, but …. Lord …Tongue Out.

@Mars62312:  every time we talk about tuxedos, he says he wants a sleeveless tux. I don’t think he’s kidding.

@s2bmrscook:  I didn’t know sleeveless tuxedos were even a thing!!

My fiance wanted to arrive by helicopter and have all the guests see his big entrance. I took him to the wedding location – there’s nowhere to land a helicopter within half a kilometre, so he’d have a long hike ahead of him to get to the ceremony. Plus we’re getting ready at the ceremony location, so he would have had to a) catch a helicopter from the location, do a circle and land again in the same place or, b) drive somewhere else to meet a helicopter, then ride it back to the ceremony. He still wants one!

My Fiance watched the Mackelmore “Thrift Shop” film clip.

HIM : Those clothes are awesome. I want them.

ME : You’re joking right.

HIM : How funny would it be to wear the batman onesie around town. I want all of our kids to have matching onesies.

ME : I will not dress our children like they belong in a cult.

We sit quietly watching TV for a few more minutes before he spoke again.

HIM : What about the pink suit? I’d like to wear that to the wedding and it will be cheap.

ME : You do realise most thrift shop clothes are from deceased estates right?

HIM : I’ll have it cleaned first then.

ME : I’ll ask your Mum to pick your suit.

I made the mistake of telling Fiance I was having a hard time finding a bra that would work with my dress.  His solution:  Braless?  No.  Topless.

Mine suggested a long time ago that he wanted (in his words) “strippers in nacho hats” . I told him that if he’s like that, he can have that at his bacholer party, but not at our wedding, as his mom and sister would kill him.

And to think, I have to settle for a Fiance who’s incredibly traditional and doesn’t have crazy ideas. The craziest he’s said was that he wants custom bobbleheads as cake toppers, and a groomscake in the shape of our 2 year old cat.

This thread is hilarious!

Mine is a tie between having the reception at Chuck E Cheese, asking if he can Skype into the ceremony, and insisting that he’ll gain 15 pounds to make his “fat suit” fit again just so he doesn’t have to wear a tuxedo!
