I really miss home. I am a 2 hour flight away and right now am 28 weeks pregnant. My husband and I are supposed to go back next week to see family and for me to satisfy some food cravings I’ve been having, lol.
I am iffy about it just because it’s flu season and my husband is just getting over a cold. It is also super cold back home. I feel like if I don’t do it now though I won’t get a chance to till a few months after baby is born which is a long time from now. My doctor said I could technically travel up until 35 weeks but I honestly don’t want to push it that far.
Just curious what you other bees have done.

I flew from NC to California when I was 28 weeks. It was fine, it was just uncomfortable to sit for that long.

My husband and I drove 8 hours in one day when I was 35 weeks. I was big, and we had to stop to tinkle, but it wasn’t bad. At 30 weeks, I had taken a 2 hour flight to visit family. I wouldn’t worry about it at all. Just get your flu shot!

We traveled a lot during pregnancy and now travel a lot with our 7 month old. The latest that I traveled was at 37 weeks, but it was because we were evacuated due to a flood, so we went to a nearby city to be by a hospital, since the baby was breech. It was about a 2 hour drive from home. It was fine to drive because I could put the seat up and down and stop when I needed to etc. The latest that I flew was 32 weeks and it was a short flight – an hour. I was really uncomfortable on that flight, so I said no more air travel after that!

I am flying from South Africa to the uk on Tuesday – 11 hours. I will be 31 weeks. Doctor and airlines are fine with it as long as you dont have complications. I also went on a 2 week road trip from 25 to 27 weeks with long days in the car and was fine.
as to whether the flight will be uncomfortable (more than usual) I will let you know!

@lilyofthevalley : it sounds like she would be about 36 weeks. It depends on her dr., but I would bet no, especially internationally. In the event she delivered, the healthcare would be sub par.

My doctor okayed me to travel with no restrictions until 32 weeks…unless of course complications arise by then. I travel quite a bit for work and do have trips planned up to that week. I will likely bring medical records with me, though.
