For everyone saying super vague “ask me more! I need attention” statuses are obnoxious, in my circle we call it vaguebooking. As in
Sarah: Sigh! Sometimes they just don’t listen.
Megan: I hope your vaguebooking gives you the attention you need!
My personal favorite response to vaguebooking is to just decide what the status is about, however unlikely or offensive.
Cara: Scared to get some bad news today!
Me: Look, I’ve heard that herpes is totally manageable with the right medicine. You just have to be diligent.

I have seen many many many people do this, but have one FB friend in particular that does this a lot. What is it with people and posting controversial statuses, then sitting back and watching other people argue over the comments section? Seriously?
The one particular friend has hit EVERY single topic I can think of that gets people riled up. Today, they chose abortion, and posted a status that simply said “Abortion is wrong.” and people (as expected) went NUTS. As of posting this right now, there are over 500 comments on this status. Now there’s no way in HECK I’m going through those, but on some of their previous statuses, they’ve made a comment like “Glad I popped popcorn- this is getting good!” but made no other contribution towards the discussion- so they really are JUST doing this for attention!
It’s so weird to me… do these people not get enough attention in real life so they need high comment numbers to feel better? Does that actually make people feel better? I swear I’d delete every single person that does this the SECOND I see the status pop up (and I do, if I don’t need to interact with them).
Ok. Rant over!

This is probably the most amazing thing ever. In fact, I am stealing this idea for future use. 🙂

HANDS DOWN! Closed minded, one sided, judgemental, racist, sexist, threatening, unresearched and plain dumb political posts.
Posting about politics on your facebook doesn’t change a thing and makes people feel like they are doing something when they aren’t. It isn’t real life, it’s the internet!

Right on cue – this is the update I see today – “Happy two week birthday ‘insert name here’!!”

hahaha! I’d love to try this!
and I agree with the photos of food… Seriously it’s cool that you can cook nice homemade meals every night, but why document every single meal?!

one I love this topic. But I have a few. The first is for example my sil. Everyday she posts a dfiferent pic of her daughter doing something. She posts a pic of the kid looking at the camera. Or she is constantly taking pics of herself. She has over 1,000 photos of either herself, her husband or her duaghter. I do not need to see my neice in a different pic everyday. She has not changed that much in a dam day!
My second is the stupid teenagers. I hate when they are dating someone, they think it is really cool to put married to their bf or gf, instead of in a relationship. Then in a week they are single again. New bf or gf comes along and they are married to that person. Please, when you know the meaning of marriage and what it really stands for and you are legally married to that person, then you can use that relationship status.

Curious… what’s so annoying about a shared FB account? We don’t have one, but we have a shared cell phone, and that got me thinking if my friends & family think that’s annoying too…
