I have one. So the venue that I booked for our wedding built a new gazebo at the Carriage House where I was getting married just MONTHS before the wedding. Well I was on their FB page and I saw a lady who got married there with pictures and the gazebo. Now this is totally CREEPY of me haha, but I added her and messaged her begging to look at the pics so I could know how she decorated and the jive of the whole gazebo, it literally changed the entire feel of the venue. She laughed and added me and no big deal.

I work at a hospital as a float aide which basically means I go everywhere. Well the other day there was a fire alarm going off for burnt toast (STUPID) on the unit I was on. I thought it was really funny cause my husband is a fireman was called in for overtime because it was the first snow and they had a ton of calls. Well I put on my FB that the fireman probably wouldn’t be too pleased with a false fire alarm since they were so busy already.

10 minutes or so later I get a message from the lady I creepily added on FB. This was the message

So I see your post…. as I’m at the hospital working, listening to an alarm. Are you at PVH? So random. I work in the BC. Small world ๐Ÿ™‚

SOOO weird!!

Mine’s kind of lame, but, my ex boyfriend and I had dated twice, once when we were 15, once at 18. We started dating again on what would have been our third anniversary, although both of us were oblivious at the time. My PIN number for one of my cards just so happened to be the numerical date of our anniversary. When I went to college, my dorm number was the first 3 digits of our anniversary and my roommate’s boyfriend had gone to school with my ex, and my roommate’s birthday was on my anniversary.

I went to beauty school and on my first day I met this girl who had the same purse as me. Of course, we started talking and became super close friends. One day her and her boyfriend drove me home from school and as we were pulling into my driveway her boyfriend was like “I’ve been to your house before” (WEIRDO!!).  lol  Come to find out her boyfriend’s father and family has known my family for years, (when they all lived in Detroit) and his great aunt is one of my Grandmothers best friends that I have known for my entire life.

Then recently on facebook I saw the same girlfriend from beauty school, her mom and dad were friends with the hubby’s parents. Father-In-Law and her dad are mechanics and had worked together for years and have known each other longer than we have been alive.  Both moms are Hairdressers too! That had a lot in common so they hung out all the time.

Same girl two totally different ways we connect!!

We say we were always ment to know each other.

These are all so good!  I’ve got some interesting ones having to do with me/my family and Mr. Adventure’s family.

My name is Barbara, FMIL’s mom was also named Barbara.

Future Mother-In-Law and I share the same birth date.

My “dad” and Future Father-In-Law are both named Bill.  And have the same birthday!

Mr. Adventure and my sisters all went to the same super ghetto high school just a few years apart.

We’ve also found all kinds of other random coincidences as we go back through our years of growing up in San Diego, but those are the ones that stand out the most.

Oh!  And BFF/MOH and I think the same things all the time.  We chat via Windows Messenger and we’ll type the same things and send them at the same time.  I’ll get a headache, and she’ll get a headache.  I’ll be grumpy for no reason, and find out she’s grumpy (but for a good reason).   Its spooky!

12 miles into the backcountry in Hawaii I met someone for the first time that happened to go to my University AND was about to do the same year long experiential program I was.  We met on a secret beach!

These stories are awesome. I can’t think of a single story like this for me, though. Fun to read everyone elses!

Early on in our relationship, Fiance and I were chatting about our childhoods.  We’re from a very small town, but I had lived out of town for 8 years while I was in college.  I came back after I graduated from grad school because I didn’t have a job and my youngest sister had passed away.

Turns out, we had taken karate classes together when I was 13 and he was 11.  I don’t remember him at all from karate, but he remembered me after we talked about it (I was one of two girls in the class of like 20 boys, so I was slightly more memorable than he was).

Now, 17 years later, we’re getting married.

Just realized I have a few more of these:

Friend and I once figured out we were born in the same hospital… 3000 miles away from where we both live now.

When I was in middle school, I was briefly friends with a girl who then moved out of Texas to Orlando.  We didn’t stay in touch.  3 years later, my family moved to a small town outside of Tampa.  Was running down the hall to class one day, and hear my name – it was the girl.  Her family ended up moving from Orlando to outside of Tampa, and we ended up in the same small high school.

Okay…. this isn’t really coincidential, but I think it’s unusual.

My best friend in college has the same birthday as my high school sweetheart.

My best friend and business partner has the same birthday as my former boyfriend.

My best friend online has the same birthday as my fiance.

I just think it’s kind of weird that three men I’ve been involved with have shared birthdays with three of of my best friends, all at different times in my life.

I have three bizarre stories, all involving the same guy. It’s kind of like romantic Twilight Zone.

1. I’m originally from Turkey, moved here when I was 21. About a year later I’m at at one of the biggest club on Sunset strip, dancing and partying, and I spot this gorgeous hunky guy. I’m single at the time and can’t stop staring. A while later my guy friend says “oh, see those guys over there, they’re Turkish too, I play soccer with them once a week”. Out of like 1000 people at the place, what are the odds…Anyway of course I don’t miss the opportunity to get introduced and we start casually dating very soon.

2. I soon find out the guy has this neighbor/best girlfriend that’s kind of a bitch. She’s always making faces and snarky comments whenever I’m around. I get the feeling she wanted to be more than a friend and I kinda ruined her plans. One day the three of us drive to the desert. On the way there she “accidentally” closes the car door on my finger and almost rips it off. Anyway, I play it cool…Once we’re there we start drinking and chatting about what schools we went to etc…The girl is from another city in Turkey but the high school name seems familiar. Suddenly her name makes a lightbulb go in my head. I ask her “do you know so and so” who went to that school? Well that so and so was my college boyfriend and my first love who I never got over. He had always told me he had dated this “bitch” back in high school when he lived in another city, and she kinda damaged him. Well, guess who I’m talking to right now…Yup, she was the ex-girlfriend of the love of my life. I happened to meet her 7000 miles from home, 8 years after the fact. (sidenote: Turkey has a population of 70 million people so it’s not like we’re all related).

3. The guy moves back to Turkey after a few months and we break things off. We don’t really know anyone in common back home so we completely lose contact. Few years later my mom calls me. My aunt has just given birth. While they were visiting her at home, there was another younger friend of my aunt visiting with her new boyfriend. My aunt had a picture of me at her home and the guy suddenly exclaimed he knew me from LA. My mom tells me the name and first I can’t remember, I tell her I know no such person. My mom says, “well this guy has long black hair, tall, handsome but kinda shady looking, just your type! If you knew him you probably would’ve dated him”. And then I know exactly who she’s talking about! LOL, I did date him mom and you know your daughter so well ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s been ten years now but I still expect to one day run into this guy in Paris or some weird thing like that…

I’ve had several unique experiences in the past two years.

I attended wedding of a friend from college in a neighboring state.  I went knowing only the bride and her parents.  Our other mutual friends were unable to attend because of other commitments, so I went knowing no one.  The wedding was filled with guests from the bride and groom’s hometown.  Because I knew no one, they seated me with friends of the bride’s parents knowing that they would be friendly and would make me feel welcome.  These friends happen to also live out of state (literally in the opposite direction), and so I found myself at a table of people closer to my own parent’s age than my age.  As I’m sitting at the table, I discover that their son had just graduated from a college in their state.  I have only known one person who has ever gone there and he just recently graduated as well.  (As they talk to other friend’s at the table, they describe their son’s group of friends with a phrase that seems strangely familiar.)  It is so familiar that I think to ask… do you know… and the reply is… why yes, he has even come to our house!  The really weird part of this is that this mutual friend had happened to attend my college for a singular year after the bride and I had graduated.  (He was from my hometown, and had returned to the other college because he missed the group of buddies he had made at the other college.)  At some point, his mom had just happened to mention that just once…and gave a nearly identical description of the guy group as the people at my table!  About ten months later, their son was in my hometown at my church at this other friend’s wedding!

Another time, I was at the beach on a walk.  I was picking shells and for some reason, that isn’t typical for me, I ended up talking to two other women who were shelling as well.  Somehow in a brief conversation, we discovered that we were from the same state.  That ordinarily would have been a the end of it, and wouldn’t be interesting at all except that somehow, in this two or three minute conversation, one of us mentioned a very small town in the middle of a big state.  Neither of us lived there, but our relatives had both been born and raised there!  In fact, their dad/husband and my uncle had played on the same little league team.  But it gets even better, we discovered that we were staying on the same block of the beach which was about a mile away.  They were staying in a beach house that my family had stayed in for the last 20 years, and had just stopped staying at that cottage the year or so before, because it was on the market.  To make it even weirder, we started staying at that location because of a connection to that hometown, but this family had just randomly discovered it on a walk.

I’m a volunteer program coordinator  across the country from where my parents live and most of my “staff” are seniors.  One of them mentioned that she worked at Woodwards (a defunct Canadian department store) for most of her career.  I was like, “Oh yeah, my parents worked for that company when they were teenagers, what store did you work at?”

Her: “Surrey”

Me: “Yeah, that’s where my parents worked too.  Do you know John Smith and would have been Jane Jones back then?”

Her: “Yes!  I was their supervisor.”

And now I’m HER supervisor ๐Ÿ™‚

Aghh the weirdest thing happened to me in college.  About mid semester, I sat in my usual seat and was doodling my name.  The girl next to me (who sat next to me since the beginning of the semester) saw my name and was like “Did you go to ‘such and such elementary school’ in Houston?” I was like umm yeah why?  We had gone to school together from kindergarden thru 4th grade! I was so surprised I squealed in the middle of class haha!

Great stories!

Mine unfortunately is not a happy-end one.

When i was about 10 years old my family moved back to the town where we had lived when i was born. After the first day at my new school i told my parents all about my new desk mate and turned out that her mum and my mum had been close firnds and we had played together when we were toddlers all the time!

We obviously didn’t remember any of it, but our mums got back in touch thanks to this.

Unfortunately we did not have time to become close firnds as a few days later she got sick (with what they thought was a stomach bug) and died a week later (it wasn’t a stomach bug – her appendix burst and she died on her way to hospital).
