He still leaves me little hand written notes around the house. On post-its, napkins, reciepts, whatever little paper he finds he’ll leave things like “Thanks for all you do” “Hope you had a stress-free day!” etc in places for me to stumble on like the mirror in our living room or the bathroon counter or on the fridge. I keep them all in a little Ziploc baggie. I lost a bunch when we moved and I was SO sad but he’s made a bunch for me since.

pantsapocalypse : Aww that’s so sweet!

Okay, I’ll go.. It was our second date but I kind of need to explain the first..

On our first date we went to a restaurant for dinner and it was pretty awkward lol. As dinner was ending he asked me what would I do right now if I could do anything. I blurted out “pet a dog!” because that’s just who I am.. Anyways so he drove us to a nearby dog park and we laughed and pet dogs (after asking the owners, of course!). We got to talking more as we walked around somehow got into a debate on the correct peanut butter/jelly ratio in a PB&J. More peanut butter OBVIOUSLY lol. He prefers more jelly.

So date #2 rolls around and he picks me up and says he has a surprise. I had no idea what we were doing or where we were going. So we start driving kind of out to the middle of no where (we had mutual friends and they knew we were together so assumed he wasn’t gonna kill me!) We end up a this really pretty spot by the water with a great view of the sunset. He takes a picnic basket out of his trunk and we sit down. He starts to unpack the basket and he pulls out bread, peanut butter and jelly. He told me we were gonna settle this PB&J debate once and for all. We each made our version of the perfect PB&J and split them. It was the perfect date. PB&Js by the water watching the sun go down. We each still preferred our own version but I couldn’t stop smiling. Later he told me that he had driven out the spot the night before to try and find the perfect spot and perfect time to go.. he borrowed the picnic basket from his aunt and even asked my best friend and her husband what my favorite kind of bread was lol ughh I just love him 🙂

He most recently got me New Orleans Saints tickets. I’m a huge fan and have never been to a game. He got us tickets for a game that happens to fall on our anniversary. We are going to make a weekend of it. It may not seem romantic to a lot of people, but my husband hates football, so the fact that he sought out tickets for our anniversary makes it extra special.

We were on vacation in the states (Im from Canada) and we were at Barnes and Nobles, I made a small mention how I always thought the collectors edition of the classic novels were so pretty but I couldnt fathom buying a second copy of a book I already had just for looks. Well…he spent the whole year learning which classics were my favourite and going through my books to see what I didnt have yet, all without my knowledge. That christmas he surprised me with a huge set of them. It was all the thought and love he put into it, and the fact that he listened and remembered that made it so sweet.

When I was in high school I had a horrible prom experience. I didnt go to my junior prom due to being very ill and couldnt attend. When I was a senior a guy that I had known for years, asked me to go because he broke up with his girlfriend and we could go as friends.

Anyways I said sure, he bought the tickets, I went dress shopping with my mom. The night of the prom he never showed. He never broke up with his girlfriend, he never intended to take me to the prom. It was just a joke between him and his friends. I was devastated, and lots of people laughed because they couldnt believe I fell for it.

Anyways I was recounting this story one night to my husband. So when the next military ball rolled around, he hired a limo to pick me up and take me shopping, he called my favorite store and had them set up a private fitting for a dress. On the night of the ball, he presented me with beautiful flowers and matching jewelry for my dress, along with another limo ride to the miltary ball.

He said he was giving me the prom I never got. Photos and all.

We are in a long distance relationship, so every morning he texts me “good morning beautiful”. Whenever he comes up here, he always brings me flowers. He always opens the door for me. Whenever I am sad, he sings this song that makes me laugh.

FutureMrsBex : Ermagherd! I’m a WhoDat too! Darling Husband took me to the Dome for my first home game last year (I’ve seen them play elsewhere)…it was amazing, even if we lost to his team (Pats 🙄). Darling Husband had said he was never going to New Irleams bc he may or may not have an unpaid traffic ticket from his last trip there…he took the risk of returning for me

Most romantic thing was Darling Husband buying us ballroom dance lessons for my bday last year. I had told him when we first started dating how much I wanted to learn to ballroom dance.

He saw I was sad where we were living, so uprooted his whole life and moved 3500ks across the country so I could be with my friends and family

It doesn’t get much better than that.

Before I started my new job where I can see my car from my desk, he used to leave notes under my windshield wiper. I worked at a bank so when he would come in to make a deposit it he would have my favorite candy bar in there or a cute note.

He also always grabs me something that I like from the grocery store. Whether it’s a treat, pop, or even my favorite dinner. I always get excited when he goes shopping because I always get something haha

But, I think the sweetest thing he has ever done is for my last birthday. I love Harry Potter and so he made a quidditch goal that we used for beer pong and decorated the whole house with Harry Potter things. He also made me a birthday love letter that incorporated lines from the books. He doesn’t know much about H.P. so I know he had to do a lot of research and spent a lot of time making my birthday special. He also knows that I never got to have a birthday party as a kid so he always makes sure that my birthdays are special and amazing. He is so awesome.
