My favorite variation of Pachelbel’s Canon is actually in a YouTube video of a guy having a Pachelbel piano jam session… Just improving all kinds of variations! The 45 second intro is just perfect..Gorgeous… Before the guy goes wild with not-so-wedding-appropriate Cajun-y variations. Eesh.

So I’m learning the part I like by ear/video, piecing some other bits in, and will hopefully have semi-composed my own entrance music for the big day! (For someone who reads ZERO sheet music, plays completely by ear, and is sort of ripping off another artist, I very gingerly use the word “composed.” haha!!)

So far so good, but fingers crossed! I’ve never PRAYED over a piano before now. 😛

Oh and we had a steel drum player instead of a pianist during cocktail hour, made a fun tropical vibe 🙂

We are having our wedding inside of a conservatory atirum. Its inspired by Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” so we’ll be having lots of “Fairy” elements and having a performance of the play [within-a-play] that occurs at the wedding in the play. Wow that sounded a lot more confusing than it is.

We’ll also have a fire dancer as an ode to the summer solstice tradition of baring fire (our wedding is the eve of the summer solstice the same time that the play is set).

@sweetdee522:  He’s an 11 year old Lab mix (mostly lab mixed with Sharpei).  He’s is a sweetheart and loves people!  He’ll be well behaved, just hoping he doesn’t try to jump on me in my dress!  He will def. be all for the attention!

We need to figure out how he’ll walk down the aisle (by himself or will he walk in with the bridal party?) and I MUST get him a bow tie in the wedding colors!

We had our wedding at the Bronx Zoo – very unique venue.  The cocktail hour was in the Madagascar exhibit which allowed our guests to view the lemurs, crocs and other assorted animals while having cocktails and passed appetizers.

Our dog is the ring bearer, flower girls are fairy butterflies, the guys are wearing wooden guitar lapel pins instead of boutilliers, guest book is a black electic guitar to be signed in silver ink, my dress is purple, my ring is very unique, my man is going to sing and play guitar when I walk down the aisle (not really an aisle but you know what i mean)

I think my most unique aspect is my theme. We are planning a steampunk wedding with a comic book accent. So excited!

Fi is adding small comic/super hero touches to the wedding.

We are having 2 buffets one for the adults then a “Kids buffet” with more kid friendly foods!

Because we are having a pretty good amount of kids we are doing a few kids tables with a TON of different things for the kids like foam puzzles, color books, board games, cards ect…

My last name is a type of vegetable, so I’m incorporating some of it into my bouquet in honour of my maiden name. Luckily the vegetable looks a lot like greenery so it will work:) So far this is the most unique part of my wedding and I like it because it will be a type of inside joke for those who know about it.

not sure how unique these really are, maybe not so much anymore but it’s stuff more then half our guests if not all have never seen at a wedding.

we had a late night popcorn bar/take away favours, my hair – 1940/50’s pincurl with my birdcage veil positioned in the back to resemble a hairnet, polaroid guestbook. brooch boquets …

I think our venue is pretty unique. We’re getting married on a ship in the Buffalo Harbor, then going on a cruise for the day with our guests down the Niagara River. The captain is ordained and will be the officiant 🙂
