Dealing with hotle blocks sucks. We’ve got all sorts of drama with the hotel that exploded onto my plate this weekend.
Seating Charts is also going to suck for sure. I’m sorry but do I really give a s**t about some stupid drama that X has with Y in this small circle of parent friends and relatives over some crap that happened like 20 years ago? No, I don’t. You’re adults. Get over it and have a meal together at the same table.

seating chart was one that surprised me but I had dreaded the aftermath of what to do with all the stuff… luckily my mom took all our decor and gifts home and helped a lot!

My list syncs up with a lot of the stuff already here…
- DJ list… Fiance likes country, we both like rock, I like top 40, my family likes old school R&B… Our music is going to be all over the place!
- Photography… I just started tackling this one, and it sucks. Everyone and their mother claims to be a photojournalist, but their pics couldn’t be more different! Also, since we have a smaller budget than a lot of couples, it’s been tough finding one that suits our needs…
- Bridal party… We keep adding people, and now we’re uneven which Fiance hates. He’s got 6, I’ve got 7, and he has no clue who else to add.
- Guest list… we wanted a wedding of 125-150. Our list so far is up to 260 and I have NO CLUE where to start cutting.
I’m SO glad I’ve got over a year to figure this stuff out…

Figuring out the shuttle schedule for transporting guests between the hotel and the venue! We really needed to have four shuttles, but my FH was convinced that we would have a low turnout for our Labor Day weekend wedding and there was a charge to cancel shuttles, so we just booked three with the idea that we could add a fourth later. Fast forward to later, and all the shuttles are booked so three is what we get, AND we have received almost no “no” RSVPs. So. I am thrilled that so many people are coming to our wedding and glad that we can provide a designated driver for everyone, but I am NOT looking foward to the logistics of assigning people to shuttles and then stressing that no one will follow assignments. Of course people will do what they are going to do, but it will mean that some people won’t have a ride… Agh.

Whatever is currently on my plate… first it was the venue. Now it’s the guest list and photographer. Now that we have a venue and caterer, though, we’re pretty willing to go extreme slacker on other stuff. Decor?? Meh, we’re outside so we can live without. Seating assignments?? It’d be more fun to go without. (FI wants to do unassigned seats AND have one too few chairs, but I think that’s going too far.)

The guest list, sorry, was by far the worst. Second was finding a ceremony musician! No one would get back to us!

My bridesmaids: I’ve got MAJOR drama happening and I have put off dealing with this issue until next month at the VERY EARLIEST…try to imagine 5 girls all 19, acting like they are 10 trying to 1 up eachother for a spot in my wedding party eventhough I told them all NO! because I am only having my one and only sister! Ugh…yeah

I’m dreading the paper products. I want everything to coordinate — invites, escort cards, programs, menus, signage, stickers, etc. I still can’t decide if, or how much, I want to DIY. I was a graphic designer in another life, so I feel like I should at least do the layout myself. But I don’t have access to a laser printer or paper cutter. And frankly, I’m super-intimidated by the whole thing. On the flip-side, I’m afraid of the cost if I go with a vendor.

@Entangled: oh yes. I here you on the slacker syndrome. Now that we have food and a place to put everyone and everything, I’m pretty much burnt out. If it gets done cool, if not I’m too sick of planning to care.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned this, but for me, it will definitely be the speeches!!! I hate public speaking and thinking of witty and emotional things to say…
And of course the seating chart!!!
I think the rest will be fun 🙂

the logistics of everything. i loved finding things and deciding what i wanted, but i didn’t want to figure out how and when it was all going to get done the day of.

Figuring out who could set up the reception venue and how we were going to get stuff down there. The venue had a wedding the day before so we had to drop stuff off early and then our ceremony was in the morning so I wasn’t sure if my team would have enough time to set up. Argh! It made me very nervous.

I’m dreading planning the rehearsal dinner. I have very limited funds and it seems like very few options. I put it off but now must do it. blah!
