I believe the band of my e-ring is 3mm.

My e-ring is 1.9 mm and my wedding band will be 1.8-1.9.  They are platinum, which is durable, but I’m not too worried about them getting damaged.

My original setting/band were just under 2mm each and I wore them EVERYWHERE all the time, never had a single problem.

Recently switched for a 4mm setting/3mm bands just because I like the coverage on my chubby finger better.  Same diamond.

Mine is about 1.5mm. And the basket spans 10mm across. I find it makes the basket look so large, but sometimes I used to find the band was too thin. After I added a 1.5mm wedding band, I was so pleased 🙂

My engagement ring has about a 1mm band (maybe ever so slightly larger, it is hard to measure that small accurately). Here it is with my (soon-to-be) wedding band for comparison. I would guess based on other rings that my wedding band is about 2 mm. I have a very hard on rings lifestyle and so far it has been fine, although I did destroy it once and had to have it overhauled. But to be fair what I did to it would have even destroyed a 5mm ring!

I think it’s like 1.8mm and it turns into a 3mm at the bottom.

@Creiddylad:  Mine is 2.5mm, and pretty thick most of the way round; where it meets the centre it tapers to approx 1.5mm. I personally wouldn’t have gone thinner as I want it to be durable, and last a long time.

I wanted a very thin, plain band, no more than 1.5mm. And I did not want a knife edge or tapered shape. It was difficult to find a pre-set ring with those specs, so my fiance bought the stone via Blue Nile (highly recommend – so easy) and had it set at a local jeweler who took the time to really listen to my description. Some jewelers are hesitant to make such a thin band, but I really love how delicate and dainty it looks. And, it makes the center stone look larger, too, have to admit.

Here is my 1.61 carat round brilliant diamond on the 1.5mm band. The ring is a size 6 and my finger is about a 5 3/4.

Mine is 3.6mm at the widest parts and probably about 2.5mm at the smallest parts.  Originally I was nervous it would look too wide but I have long fingers so I think it suits me well.

I think the right ring width depends on the length and width of your fingers personally.
