Hey everyone! I have a quick favour to ask- I need help identifying the fabric of the dress (skirt portion only) of the dress below.
I have been trying on dresses and have found that while silk is beautiful, it has a certain shine to it. Maybe that’s only the type of silk that I’ve come across?
There is a dress I found online and I’m trying to figure out what kind of material the skirt portion is made of. It seems to be a very flat and smooth fabric, no creases, but it also doesn’t appear shiny or to have any sheen….does anyone have an idea what the fabric is?

Is there any possibility that it could be silk crepe? Crepe is getting really popular in wedding dresses. Pronovias and Tara Keely among other designers are using it in their dresses.

It looks similar to this material, was it smooth and kinda heavy?
BHLDN says it’s a “Gorgette skirt” http://www.bhldn.com/product/irene-gown

I’m looking at the picture via my phone, so I’m not sure, but it looks as if it could be peau de soie.

I agree with some type of crepe skirt. I tried on a dress with a crepe skirt a few days ago, but ultimately went with a satin skirt that has the same silhouette, and satin does have a sheen.

looks like crepe- pronovias has a lot of dresses cut in that material

Agree that it looks like some type of crepe. My dress is crepe and it’s thick and awesome feeling (and so comfortable). Theia makes a lot of dresses in that material, too.

It could possibly a net weight jersey, or a stretch satin!

It’s georgette crepe and it hides NOTHING.
