I’ve always seen it called “shredded” beef or pork.

Was it pork? If so, then those were carnitas!

If it was asada, it was probably carne asada which is beef.  Usually marinated in various spices and then cooked up, chopped/shredded up.

If it was pork then like scissors said it’s carnitas.

Hope it helps!

It really could of been many things, but my guess would be barbacoa, typically it is served just meat & tortilla.

I’ve actually never braised meat before; but after watching many shows, your recipe must have chili powder! 🙂

Oh girl you didn’t say it was from Torchys! Is that where you ate? Was “democrat” the name of the taco?

There is never too much Taco. That was going to be my bee name before scissors came along. Lol.

Could it have been beef carnitas in a tomatillos salsa? We make a tomatillos salsa, which is green, and cook up our carnitas in it (though, we make pork carnitas).

We also serve that salsa with our carne asada tacos, but the carne asada meat is not like what you described.
