I’ve been regularly stalking my registries and tonight I noticed that my Bed Bath and Beyond registry shows that someone purchased “bag clips” and “dryer balls” for us We didn’t regiser for either of those things, but they now show up on our registry and it says “requested: 0, purchased: 1”. There were only a few things that have been purchased off our registry, so it’s not like people didn’t have other things to choose from – there are tons of items left to purchase. There were also SEVERAL items on our registry that were in the same price range that they could have chosen instead. So why the bag clips and dryer balls???

Many times if someone purchases something on your registry along with their own personal items, it will show up on your registry. For example, they could have bought you a blender and themselves dryer balls and bag clips. When they went to pay for the items and had your registry scanned to say they purchased your blender all three items scanned to your registry.
It sucks but I’ve heard it happens at a lot of stores.

I’m not sure but sometimes if people buy something else (for themselves) when they purchase something from your registry it gets added on there. It’s happened a few times to us.

Good thing they didn’t buy anything a little more embarassing. “Why do you have adult diapers and KY Jelly on your registry??”

It happened to ours….they basically scan everything in someone’s purchase and it automatically adds it to your registry…whether its intended for you or not

this just totally cracked me up–and i needed a laugh today! next time i’m buying a registry gift i will think twice about what else i buy at the same time.

I checked out BB&B registry yesterday and someone bought us our crockpot….and also measuring spoons, a scrub brush and nose hair trimmers….none of them on the registry. I figured they were personal items as we certainly didn’t request a nose hair trimmer.
My shower is this Saturday. If I get my crock pot this weekend…I will know who has the nicely trimmed nose hairs 🙂

Yikes! Is there any way of removing these rogue purchases so the rest of your guests don’t see?

Yeah I’ve seen this alot. If I ever am in this situation I’ll make sure to ask for 2 separate transactions just incase!

I’ve also had this happen on our registry! Someone bought themselves a tank top, and a card at the store for us, and they both appeared on our registry! Too funny…

This is deff something I’ll have to keep in mind 🙂

This happened to us too! I enjoyed trying to figure out who purchased the random items. On the gift receipt there was the extra line.

Bed bath and beyond lets you delete items off your registry even if the item has been purchased. Last night I went through and deleted the mystery items.
