I don’t know what is wrong with me. I bought my dress about two months ago and really could have cared less what it looked like. I brought along my sister (MOH) and my mother and both of them cried when I put it on. I was kind of like…well, it’s pretty. So we bought the dress.
On the flip side, I spent hundreds of hours looking for the right caterer. I mean, I compared seven different caterers with custom menus on a huge poster board and was so meticulous about it. I feel like I am missing the bridal gene. Everyone is so excited about the dress and here I am…just wondering.
My wedding is still over a year away and maybe it hasn’t hit me yet? If I wasn’t moving to St. Louis from Vermont I probably wouldn’t have even looked at a caterer or a dress considering my wedding is in November. Any thoughts out there???

@Pookin802: I don’t think there is anything wrong with you. Everyone has different things that are important to them on their wedding day. For some it’s the dress, or the food, or the decorations or the venue……I wouldn’t worry. 🙂

Everyone has different priorities. For me, I think the flowers were my highest priority. I lots of beautiful flowers. Then it was the food. After that, it was the look of the venue… But that was just the priorities for the reception. We got married 8 months before we had our reception, and when I was planning the wedding, it was the venue that was highest priority because we wanted a destination wedding.
Don’t worry that the dress isn’t the most important thing. Brides always look beautiful, so it’s not you have to worry about that!!! Enjoy planning the parts that are most important to you, and you’ll find those are the things that make your wedding most memorable.
