The biggest splurge I’ve ever bought for myself–with my own money–was my 50 inch plasma tv. It cost me a bit, but man it is AWESOME to play video games on.

As for other things, I really only splurge on clothes. I’m very picky about what I wear so I usually go to Anthropologie or places like that. But even then I walk right past all the regular priced stuff and go straight to the sales closet. I only walk around the store if I can’t find anything in the back. I like quality, but I’m just not comfortable dropping $100 on something I’m only going to wear a few times a month.

I try not to splurge on anything because I’m a cheapskate. I spent my money frivolously when I was younger and I had hell to pay for in my late 20’s trying to pay off all my debt and get some savings. I finally dug myself out of debt before our wedding and we just bought a house so the only things I have been splurging on are house items oh and my face creams…LOL

My car is a $500 piece of crap that is so banged up parts sometimes fall off when I drive. This is just to give you a point of comparison when I introduce my pride and joy, my Breville Barista Express XL. It is my baby.

My education ($200,000 in student loans for my BA and my law degree)

Vacations- I just got back from Jamaica last night and we went to Cancun in March, but no more vacations until after the wedding- my future splurge for sure!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Prescription Polarized Tiffany Sunglasses- I think that was about $700

Races- my fiance and I both run and that can get expensive.  Our priciest run was a half marathon at Disney World- entry fee, cross-country air travel, hotel, Disney World Tickets, etc = a very expensive medal!!

Groceries!

$200/week for two people!!!! but almost never go out to eat. We both pack lunch every day and I justify it for health.

Also golf! It’s an expensive hobby but I will definitely drive a few hours and spend $100 to play a beautiful course.

@MrsPanda99:  the idea of it was scarier than the actual procedure. 17 seconds for one eye, and 16 seconds for the other ๐Ÿ™‚ It was a ton of prep and post op stuff but I think I was in the procedure chair for all of 5 minutes. The results were instantaneous – seriously incredible.

CASHMERE SWEATERS.  I’m addicted and I’m a major cashmere brand snob.

I really like White & Warren (not cheap but not insane expensive) and Johnston’s of Elgin (insane expensive)

DH’s wedding gift… Although, compared to you guys’ splurges, this seems cheap (it was a $130 watch)

I LOVE clothes/shoes/bags/make-up…but I can’t afford to buy all things designer…nor do I have the room for it all.  Once we get into our new house, I’m splurging to create the closet and vanity of my dreams!
