My mom asked me what I wanted the theme to be for our bridal shower? She was thinking butterflies, but I hate butterflies!
Do I need a theme? I want to give her a theme so she doesn’t put out butterfly “stuff” but I really don’t know what.
What are you doing for your bridal shower or what did you do?

mine was easy, we kept the theme beach like my wedding

I agree, it would be much easier following the theme of your wedding. Unfortunately, we don’t have a theme.
I was thinking something like:
Um…that’s it, my mind is blank!

I didn’t have a theme for either party really (I had two showers). My sister did maybe a bit of a cooking theme, but it wasn’t crazy over the top. You could say the theme was “Wedding”. LOL!

My favorite color is pink and considering I wasn’t able to have that be incorporated into our wedding (doesn’t exactly go with a fall theme), my shower will be what I like to refer to as nauseatingly pink. At least thats what I’ve requested. We’ll see what I actually get!

We did a cooking theme. My maid of honor got one of those cook books that you can insert recipe cards into. Then she mailed everyone recipe cards with their invitations. Each woman brought their favorite family recipe and put it into the binder at my shower…so now I have a collection of them! It’s a great cook book and makes me feel so loved whenever I use one! Some smart guests gifted me with things you would use to make whatever recipe they had given me (ie, strainer for pasta).

Mine will be an around the clock theme. Guests will be assigned a time of day and asked for a gift that fits that time of day.

@UpstateCait: LOL!! I agree, pink has got to show up somewhere. Purple is my absolute favorite color and I’m glad it will be making a statement at our wedding.
@Bride109: what a creative idea!! Especially for those of us (me) who aren’t experts in the kitchen!
@DeaconBride: Very unique as well, interested to see what gifts you get for the after hour times…

Theme? I was thinking more like “Kitchen” or “Bath”. Anyone?

My Maid/Matron of Honor is doing “holidays.” Everyone knows I’m a total holiday junkie and love anything related to the celebration of any major holiday so everyone is bringing something decorative for various holidays throughout the year.
I thought it was brilliant idea and can’t WAIT! 😉

For one we did an “Around the Clock’ theme, but assigned the times differently. We did Bed Time, Dinner Time, Have your parents to dinner Time, BBQ Time, Halloween Time, Home Decorating Time, Baking Time, etc. People were incredibly creative!
The other was just by color…turquoise/blue (the major wedding color). I asked everyone to wrap their gifts in blue, and we had blue drinks, and flowers and cake had blue trim/ribbons.

my wonderful sister/maid of honor and stepmother in law to be are throwing me a Cupcake and Champange themed shower. I have a passion for baking and cupcakes had my own small busniess out of my home called creations by katie. So I am so excited for the shower!

I would totally like either Japanese theme or Mad Hatter Tea Party theme 🙂

My Mother-In-Law is throwing me my shower and she is doing an Alice In Wonderland Theme. So The whole thing is like a Mad Hatter Tea Party :”]]
Edit: @MmeSilverBullet: I didn;t even ready anyones post and saw that you would want a Mad Hatter Tea Party. That’s what mine is. Such a cute idea :”]]

@lezlers: I like this idea! We don’t have any holiday decorations, so it would be good for us.
I also really like the clock/time theme.
