I’m not a blingy person, I’ve very classic. Anyways I would like a 1.75-2ct. I have a 1.5ct. It was huge when I got it, but now I have carat shrinkage!

well, i voted .5-.75, but i had a .32ct diamond before and it was quite lovely, so i wish i could’ve voted for a .25-.75 option.  i just don’t see what’s so great about big diamonds and could never justify asking Fiance to drop that kind of money on a piece of metal and a rock.  no offense to anyone that has one, it’s just not for me.

@PinkMagnolia: lol I have the same problem. I’m sure my answer would have been different a year ago.

@LGenz:  Me three.  I have a 1.4 ct center stone, but I was just noticing the other day that it looks smallish now.  I thought it was huge when I got it two years ago.

Realistically, I know I have a very good-sized diamond that I am very fortunate to have and am very grateful for.  I’d never ever mention to my husband that it now looks small.  I’m guessing I have just gotten used to it and it no longer has that “wow” factor for me that it did when I first got it.  That said, I still love it and wouldn’t want to trade up.

I was really hoping for 2 cts, but definitely wanted at least 1.5. DH ended up going with slightly over 2 and I think it’s the perfect size.

    I wanted a 1.5 ct, Fiance got me a 1.77. I’m really happy with it 🙂

@LoveMySailor1018: I was thinking the same question!

A 3 stone ering at 1c tw would have more coverage than a 1 c solitaire.  So that could lead to another question.  Is it more important to have more coverage or a larger rock?

I would say 2-2.5ct. would be my ideal.  My diamond is 1.6 on my size 6 finger.  I have a halo which covers more area, but I just like the idea of 2cts.  🙂  I hinted pretty heavily when Mr. Bing asked, but he’s a practical man, so I’m not surprised with his choice.  An extra $4k or so for .5ct more (to him not a big eye-difference) wasn’t gonna happen.

I always thought 1 ct solitaires were the most classic engagement ring so thats what I got =D my fingers a size 8 and it looks absolutely perfect… any bigger and I think I’d just have a ton of people asking me if ‘it’s real or not’ in my area.

I have a 1 carat ring and it is perfect for my size 5 finger. I would like to upgrade the  clarity and colour at some point though.

Mine is just over a carat.  A carat (around a carat) is my size.  It is low key and beautiful.
