I’m a freelance writer and photographer for horse magazines. I’ve been “my own boss” for almost two years. This year I’m making more money than last year–more than I made on staff at a magazine for 4.5 years. I was burned out at one magazine. Now I write for about eight, as well as work on a lot of other projects. I thought I’d miss the office… and I do miss the interactions, but I don’t miss constantly worrying about if I’ll have a job next year because of how the company was doing. I don’t worry about other people’s jobs–only my own. I love it. also, I can work in pajamas. Not on photo shoots or events, of course. ๐Ÿ™‚

I just got it! I’ll be working at Intel as a Senior Training Specialist with other trainers in a new division they starting. I’ve been a lot of things, but a corporate trainer is hands down my favorite. Only problem, I love it so much I have a hard time not work 60+ hours a week.

Attorney specializing in Administrative Law, Employment Law, and Risk Management.  Extra bonus is that I work for a State entity so I have great benefits and lots of paid time off that I am encouraged to take.  I split my time between the office and hearings with annual trainings that I attend and sometimes give lectures at.

@Americano:  +1! I’m also a corporate trainer but I work for a large NFP that I truly believe in. My job challenges me (in good ways and bad) but I couldn’t dream of doing anything else right now ๐Ÿ™‚ So glad I left finance for this!!!

I’m an administrator in the artistic department of a large opera company.  I’ve been here for 14 years and I don’t want to work anywhere else!

@oneofthesethings:  that sounds amazing!

I work for a major airline in the safety division.  Definitely not my dream position, but I hope to move on one day with the company.

My dream job is to be Director of the National Park Service, then retire to run my own cafe.  I used to work for the park service and I sometimes make my own bread at home, so… Cry
