mmmm range rover baby! LOL maybe in my not so near future. But yes, I like both of those ideas:) I currently still drive our mid size infinity as we only have one child. Next time around I’ll be looking for the cool soccer mom car too!

We purchased a Honda CRV this year because I have a long commute to work and as a nurse, I don’t get the luxury of working from home/office being closed because I always have to be there if it snows. We wanted something with 4-wheel drive, and mostly that was SUV’s. I, personally, think many large SUVs are absolutely not necessary (ie: soccer mom who travels locally driving a suburban) so we wanted something small and  a CRV fit the ticket. It was around $23k and we chose to buy a new one versus used because they retained their value so well, many used ones with 40-50k miles on them were only about $6k cheaper! We figured it was worth the peace of mind to purchase new. It even comes with a special seatbelt specifically for car seats! Gas mileage is comprable to larger sedans as well.

I got my “mommy car” about a year ago – a good 6+ months before we were TTC.  It’s a Volvo XC60, their crossover SUV.   I looooove it!  I always have referred to it as my “Mom Car” too.  lol

Fiance and i arent actively TTC yet – and we just bought two new cars this summer. the nissan ultima and the nissan rogue. we were totally thinking mommy car in mind when we bought the rogue! now were already jumping ahead to the family car – we love to travel & have a cabin in the family plus two shiba inu puppies – so within 2012 or before next summer were looking at the buick enclave for all of its room!

Ford Edge (one of the older styles, I don’t like the brand new boxy style that just came out)  -in pearl or red

Buick Enclave-in that brown color that you see loads of them in.  You know the one haha

as for car car, I have a car crush on Chrysler 300, always have, even though the style hasn’t changed in years. -in black

I’m sure with my need for everything in my life to be ridiculously practical and cost efficient, I’ll end up with a used minivan (=.  It may not be my dream cruiser, but that’s more than fine with me.

Hyndai Elantra Touring. It’s the hatchback version, and has a TON of space. My husband and I are both over 6 feet tall, and I can sit behind him in the back seat without my knees touching. There’s a ton of room for cargo, but it still gets 40 mpg highway. AND it doesn’t look as big as it is! I love that i’d be able to haul around furniture and other design projects, plus have a dog in the back, plus have enough space to do major camping and road trips in it!!

@Rouquine:  yeah, i’m obsessed with hatchbacks, too!! They give you so much more space while still looking sporty. I looooved my VW Golf. Too small for a family, though!

I really like SUV’s  for the “family vehicle” I have a Dodge Nitro Right now. I really like the new Ford Explorers but those are expensive and I also would love a new Jeep Grand Cherokee… but those are also expensive. I really can’t bring myself to spend upwards of 35k for a car. So i’m just gonna have to see what the price is like and stuff… maybe a used one.

No shame in my momma ride! I love my van. I love the automatic doors, the heated leather seats, the rockin sound system. I just love vans, I love how roomy they are.
