Jalapeno cheddar corn bread muffins. So painfully good. FH and I have made them every year since we have been doing Thanksgiving together, and they have become our little tradition. This is the recipe I use.

I’m so excited for tomorrow. My family are wonderful cooks (I did not inherit the patience and focus required to participate in this!) I’m particularly excited for stuffing, potatoes…ahh the whole thing. I’m not sure if we have a signature dish. My brother is going to make harissa spiced sweet potatoes tomorrow instead of our normal marshmallow kind, which should be interesting!

My mother’s family always does corn waffles for the morning on holidays and they are my favorite! Typically they also do some smoked salmon the day of, and a huge display of homemade desserts- chocolate mousse being the family staple.. My husbands family generally has very bland and boring food, but they have mastered scalloped potatoes that are to die for.

Ours is definitely the stuffing, made with red pepper, onion, celery, sausage, golden raisins and pecans. It is a huge hit every year, so much so that I now not only stuff the bird but also make more in a casserole. I’m sure it isn’t that unusual, as there isn’t anything really out of the ordinary about it, but there’s never any left!
