I just scheduled our first wedding cake tasting for next week, we are excited!
The place we are going has a list of tons of different flavor and filling options. We are to pick 6 different flavors to try and a filling we would like for each flavor. It seems simple, it’s cake, but it’s actually harder to pick than I thought!
What are some of your favorite cake/filling flavor combinations? Maybe one you had/will have at your own wedding or one you have tried at someone else’s.
Any cakes you’ve had at weddings that you did not like?
Thanks for the input. 🙂
*bonus if you add a photo of your cake because everyone likes a little eye candy.

I rarely meet a cake that I don’t like, so this was such a fun tasting —
We’re going with a vanilla pound cake with coconut buttercream, Belgian chocolate cake with caramel filling and buttercream, and then carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.

I think you are my cake flavor twin. Those all sound right up my alley! Mmm chocolate and caramel…

Funfetti!! Our wedding cake was funfetti with buttercream frosting

I honestly don’t care what flavor it is as long as it’s not mocha. I like my coffee on the side. Hehe.

Favorite flavors would have to be almond, lemon, guava with cream cheese filling or vanilla rum.

Red velvet and lemon are my favorites, but I’m not tremendously picky about my cake. Bonus points if it’s got cream cheese frosting. Ours will be red velvet and will look something like this.

My cake was alternate layers of spice cake and red velvet (fall themed), my two favourites 🙂 can’t resist chocolate, though usually all the groom’s cakes are chocolate so I go for them first… there’s nothing I hate, I get tired of just vanilla but enjoy the vanilla with raspberry filling, mmm.

I hate spice or pumpkin cake.
anything else…I’m not picky.
Our cake is called an OJ cake. It’s vanilla/orange cake with cream cheese and strawberry filling.

We are doing almond cake with cannoli cream filling and grand marnier infusion, a layer of dark chocolate cake with raspberry puree, and one red velvet with cream cheese frosting.
ETA: This may be the hardest thread ever to read while on a diet!

Chocolate cake with peanut butter filling is my favourite.

This is probably not an option, as I’ve never seen it listed as a brides cake choice, but pineapple upside down cake is my favorite.
