I didn’t even register for them. ppl think of cloth diapers of the old school kind so I didn’y want to waste time. I got disposables that I’ll use for daycare, so it worked out well. You also might want to use disposables til the belly button falls off.

@sorrycharlie: We use Flips AI2 and LOVE them. They are trim, easy to pack in the diaper bag, and easy to use. We have the staydry insert for day and use the organic insert for night time. Poop does usually get on the cover (we just started solids, so poops are still like pb) but 9 covers last us 3 days. It’s a cheaper option to pockets or AIOs and they are great quality.

We’ve tried GroVia AI2, Gdiapers and bestbottoms, and the flips are our favorite. Gdiapers leak a lot and are a pain, grovia and bestbottoms are sized a bit smaller than Flips, had tighter elastic leaving red marks on the thigh (DS is not chunky either) and I don’t like snapping in the insert.

We also LOVE BG 4.0 pockets. We tried FBOS, Kawaii goodnights and sunbaby pockets as well. The BG are just really well made, easy to adjust and sized well. Sunbaby’s ran small and the leg elastic was really tight (we had the 4.0s) leaving red marks on the thigh. FB were awful to get a good fit, sized smaller and the pul often was against the skin in the back. Kawaii were my second favorite as they are made similarly to the BG in size and design, but at 1/2 the price.

@sorrycharlie: We started at 2-3 weeks once the cord fell off, which took forever!! We were able to keep up. DS went through about 10 a day and we had about 24. We did get sposies at the shower, so we used those when we were behind on the wash.

You can always register for cloth diapers. JilliansDrawers has a registry, and they are an awesome store! (I’m local and the women that work there are amazing!) Also BabiesRUs are selling some BG 4.0 diapers and amazon sells a bunch of different brands so they are options too if you register there. BuyBuyBaby also sells the BG 4.0 diapers, as well as bumkins (which I don’t know anything about).

Registering for cloth might get the point out to people not to buy disposables, plus it lets them see how the modern cloth diapers work when they look over your registry. Word of mouth works great. We only got the ones that came in a huge diaper cake, which really did come in handy. You can’t use typical diaper rash creams with cloth diapers, so when DS was on antibiotics and got awful diaper rash, we switched to disposables.
