Classic round brilliant is my favorite.  I’m super glad that that’s what the family stone we inherited from FI’s grandmother turned out to be.  After that I like cushion and pear cut.  For a long time I thought I wanted a princess cut, but when I tried one on, it just didn’t look right on my finger.

I love my princess cut ring, but I lust after those big pears! ๐Ÿ™‚

Personally, I love round. Classic! My second favorite is cushion and 3rd place goes to princess.

Ok, so I have a Round Brilliant and I love her very much (DEFINITELY the sparkliest of the cuts), BUT i do wish I had tried on at least one emerald cut ring…Undecided

Just wanted to chime in a note about emerald cut diamonds I came across in an article

The emerald cut diamond has been around for many years and once was a popular choice for royalty and affluent people. Some of the most famous and valuable diamonds have been cut in the emerald shape. An emerald diamond is a member of the step cut family of diamond shapes, which include baguettes, Asscher, trapezoid, and bullet cut diamonds. The step cut diamond gets it’s name because the pavilion has a series of facets that run parallel to one another to form steps. Emerald diamonds have fewer yet larger flashes of light while round and princess diamonds have more yet smaller flashes of light. An emerald diamond looks like a prism and doesn’t “sparkle” it flashes….

A 1ct emerald will look noticeably larger than a round or princess cut of the same shape.

Asschers are DREAMY! Rectangles need to be around more often! My setting is rectangular!

Oval, followed closely by its more angular cousin, radiant.  Love!

I love round because I think it is timeless and has the most sparkle, but I also love cushion cuts as well.  I think they are all beautiful in their own way and love love love admiring gorgeous rings!

I always preferred round because I felt it was timeless, until it was ring shopping time and I ended up with an elongated cushion. I felt it was equally elegant and (to me) it was a little more special.

I’d take a diamond cut in the shape of an octogon though, who am I kidding.

I love my princess cut, but I also love pears. I came really close to getting one.

I ended up choosing round. Princess cut would prob be my second favorite, but closely followed by cushion, then radiant and asscher! I love many different cuts.
