I’m from Laos, and we always had a big complicated salad at special meals: lettuce, onions, cilantro, tomato, shrimp, sliced eggs, ground peanuts, toasted garlic, and scallions. The dressing is made with the egg yolks, oil, vinegar, and oyster sauce. It’s crazy to make, but a meal in itself.
What’s your absolute favorite salad

My Favorite Salad EVAR is:
Grilled romaine with prosciutto, manchego and pine nuts with white balsamic vinaigrette. And its so stupid easy.
Cut end off romaine heart, cut hearts in half. Wrap piece of prosciutto around the heart, drizzle all over with olive oil, toss on hot grill for 90 seconds on each side.
Top with thinly sliced cheese, a little more olive oil, and a dash of white blasamic vinegar, pine nuts. Eat.
I made this salad a thousand times this summer and added canteloupe a lot too. You could do this with any salad too – romaine with strawberries and feta, grilled caesar salad, romaine with blue cheese and walnuts and cranberries… anything really. And it totally impresses your friends 🙂
Heres a picture of how it kinda turns out:

Does fruit salad count!?
I hate all dressings and really can’t stand tomatos, onions, olives, etc (it is a CURSE) so salad for me is basically just…..leaves. Booooring!

Of course fruit salad counts!

I LOOOOOOVE an awesome Greek salad.
I also love seven layer salad.
And a wedge salad.
Hell. There isn’t much I don’t love.
ETA: Oh! I almost forgot, I make a linguine salad (my mom’s recipe) that is to die for. I use linguine noodles, grape tomatoes sliced, cucumber, green pepper, purple onion all chopped and add some granulated beef bouillon to the hot drained noodles (until they turn a brownish tint) then add the veggies and Ken’s steakhouse Northern Italian dressing. It is soooo good.

I love a good Greek salad or regular salad with strawberries, candied pecans with a raspberry vinigarette. 🙂

I like just iceberg lettuce, with thousand island dressing, and a few croutons optional
I’ve never been a “salad with lots of stuff on it” person. I think it’s cause I’m such a picky eater, if a salad has 10 ingredients, odds are I dislike at least some of them.

I am salad obsessed! I use whatever I have- but love love love Annie’s goddess dressing. Tonight I did spinach, mixed greens, mushrooms, zucchini, sprouts, peppers. I love cabbage in it too. I like a mix of textures. I also love sunflower seeds on top. I eat a salad everyday (if I have the fresh ingredients, that is!)
