Bridey77: Yeah, I’ve noticed that heart shapes tend to get a bad rap, in general. I love that shape, and always have. Waaaaay back (in the dark ages — ha, ha) when Darling Husband and I got engaged, I really wanted a heart-shaped stone. But Darling Husband wanted to go with round brilliant, instead. Now, of course, I love round brilliants. And tend to choose that shape for most of my jewelry, so I’m definitely not complaining. But I never outgrew my love for heart shaped jewelry! (I guess it’s the romantic in me. Ha, ha!)
Also … the next time you are around the jewelry counters and your gorgeous stone lights up with its sparkle, you MUST take a picture!! I so need to see that.

I love everything about mine, but especially the side view-basket settings are my favorite! I also love the thin band, but still feel like it’s secure due to the metal (platinum) and basket/claw prongs.

color. I love the color!
That it’s exactly the gem I wanted and had been looking out for months and even the cut!
The Centerstone and the fact that it was especially cut by a cutter I admire a lot because of his top work and because he sources his stones directly from the countries where they were found and he gives back to those countries and miners providing funds for education and tools so they can keep the industry alive, since it’s what feeds the economy of those towns. His documentary Sharing The Rough is just out and I am dying to see it!
The unique setting too (mixed metals, hidden crown, claw prongs)

wrkbrk: Your ring is absolutely gorgeous!! Beautiful setting that really shows off the stone and your wedding band looks amazing with it! Were they custom made? Here are mine. Also set in heavy platinum – not a great photo and I have no idea why it went sideways. LOL. I love solitaires! Mine is a 1.03 ct Old European Cut.

lovesbooks99: Thank you! I love your OEC! The head of my cathedral solitaire was customized but otherwise no. The band I found on bluenile! 🙂

i LOVE my centre stone…it’s a pear and it sparkles like crazy 🙂

Mine is my band. The diamonds on the band are curved to make it look like two bands twisted together. This is also what my fiancé loved about it and why he pucked it. Sorry for the poor picture.

My fav think about my ring is that it looks like a waterfall of diamonds.

wrkbrk: Thank you! What are your stats on your stone? It’s beautiful! I love the whole set!

I love my ring’s art deco look!

I love that Darling Husband is super proud of it and always says he hasn’t seen another set anywhere he likes better 🙂 as for the symbolism I love that its my grandmother’s setting with a new center stone that Darling Husband and I chose together. I love that the stone seems to glow in the dark – and I love the mixed metals…. So much for one favorite thing lol

Almost 13 years later, I am still in love with my sapphire set. This was both of our 2nd marriages, I had the diamond before but wanted something different from Darling Husband. We picked this out together and had the wedding band custom made because none of the stock bands would fit right with the sapphire. We are planning a vow renewal and will going back to the same local jeweler for my anniversary band. It is the one as my profile pic.

I love how simple mine is but still very unique…and also how my center diamond in the bezel looks flush to the band from the top, but then when you turn it, you can see how high the setting is. Also love how it never gets caught on anything! 🙂
