@meerkat: Try Moscato.. there is reg moscato or moscato di asti.. the latter is just carbonated. Any dessert wine will be very sweet but this is my fav. It comes in both red and white.. usually the di asti is white though.

Dr Loosen Reisling is a perennial favorite! Not sure on the price though.

I like Sutter House Chardonnay. It’s cheap. Oh Barefoot Wines aren’t bad either. People swear by the Three Buck Chuck at Trader Joes.

I can’t drink wine if it’s too sweet. The drier the better, IMO. I am not crazy about white wine, although I do enjoy a nice dry chardonnay from time to time.

My favorites are deep, spicy reds, especially Malbec and Tempranillo.

I love Malbec. And yes, the 3 buck chuck at Trader Joes is awesome. I like the Shiraz and the Cabernet Sauvignon. So cheap yet so good.

You are looking for non-sweet wines, yes? Not sweet wines?

My favourite white is Pinot Grigio

My favourite red is Baco Noir; however, I wouldn’t say that it is a fairly normal wine. Cabernet Franc, Merlot or Pinot Noir’s would work well for Reds

I am not going to name off brands because all of the wines I drink are from the Canadian Niagara Peninsula and I don’t know if you have them in the US.

For reds if you are serving anytype of Italian I love Chianti. Also a Cabernet Sauvignon. For whites either a Pino Grigio of Sauvignon Blanc.

I’m a big fan of Columbia Winery Merlot and Riesling for white.  It’s less than 10 bucks each.

I had Washington Hills riesling with my SO last weekend and it was DELICIOUS.  I love sweet wine and it was just right.  If I remember right, it was $10 for a bottle at Total Wine.

I don’t drink very often at all, but we had to do a few tastings for the wedding. My current favorite is Sergio Mionetto Rose. It is an extra dry rose sparkling wine. We are having a very small wedding, so this is the wine we are having. It covers red wine people, white wine people, and champagne people, and if they don’t like it, we can always bring it home and drink it ourselves 🙂

We didn’t get anything that we didn’t like, so it won’t go to waste.
