Oh I love them ALL! Precious to semi-precious and all in between in all the colors of the rainbow!!!! My favorite cuts are usually longer cuts, pears, ovals, emeralds Etc. I’ll share a few pictures!!!

I just ordered these two, a garnet three stone and a peridot oval:

This rutilated Quartz is one of the next ones on my wish list:

And I’m also on the hunt for Rose Quartz, moonstone, lapis lazuli, aqua chalcedony…. Basically I want it all. Lol

EmeleeRose :  Thank you! Yes, it’s a full eternity. Gel manis are so great for the staying power, but they have a tendency to destroy your nails…hopefully yours bounce back soon!

So I have to say that I’m partial to alexandrite, given that is the center stone in my engagement ring, but I definitely love a lot of other gemstones too. Garnet (Malaya and Tsavorite), Moonstone, Sapphire, Ruby, Beryl, Spinel, Sphene, Tourmaline, Zircon, and Andalusite to name a few. However, when it comes to cuts, I love love love fancy/unique cuts. Every gemstone is different, and it makes sense to me, to cut each unique stone with that in mind. I understand using calibrated cuts for stones that need to be identical, however, I prefer when gem cutters play up the individuality of each little treasure to show off it’s best features. This to me is so much more interesting than standard shapes, but I never see them talked about much here. One of my favorite gem cutters ( http://www.earthstreasury.com/ ), does exactly this:

Now, if I had to pick a specific “cut”, it would definitely be Portuguese, which, much like a step cut, can be applied to lots of shapes. It has more facets than a step cut, while still preserving carat weight, so I think it’s especially pretty when applied to sapphire, garnet, or spinel:
