summerbride2016:  I love ska! It’s not a very “first-dancey” genre, though. Maybe you could try Could You Be Loved by Bob Marley, or Love Song by 311?

How long will I love you by Ellie Goulding

It took us a while to finally decide. We had originally wanted something both in English and Spanish (as he is Mexican and I am half Mexican), but honestly I don’t like a lot of Spanish music. We had found one song we both really loved that had both an English and Spanish version that we were planning on mixing together, but we nixed it when my parents heard it and started laughing.

Then on a long car trip Fiance played this song. I had never heard it before and I instantly teared up (which is weird because I DON’T cry because of music). Ellie Goulding’s voice is so beautiful and I KNEW this was the most perfect song for us. So happy Fiance agreed!

liverightnow:  Isn’t it the best?  We are probably going to learn to 2 step or something rather than just sway back and forth- we hane’t decided yet.  ๐Ÿ™‚

I Choose You by Sara Barelis (I think I spelled her name wrong). It’s got the sweetest lyrics.

We’re dancing to Forget Me Not by the Civil Wars. If you haven’t heard it, or are still looking for a first dance song, I seriously recommend it. It’s gorgeous!

ghostkitty:  we got married in June and it was great.  We danced to the original.  We worked with an instructor to do a dance that worked with the song.  We did not do the whole song as it is kinda long

Not completely confirmed yet, but more than likely La Vie en Rose – Louis Armstrong version. It always makes me think of the movie WALL-E! I really love the song “Define Dancing” from the soundtrack, and always thought it would be amazing for a first dance, conceptually. But, La Vie and Rose feels, ironically, like a better song to actually dance to, and encorporates my and my fiance’s love of jazz.

We used “The Way you Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra. We are both big Frank lovers.

Our ‘real’ song though was “500 miles” by The Proclaimers. We slow danced to that one too ๐Ÿ™‚
