Everyone wants to look and feel their best on their wedding day! I was hoping some people would share what is is they are doing (30 day shred, weight watchers, etc and whatever!) and how it is going!
Personally, Jan- March I was doing the 30 day Shred (Jillian Michaels is a tough B), cardio and weights at the gym, and following a 1200 calorie diet. I lost about 10 pounds those three months! Beginning of April I started on the quite controversial Releana diet, and have lost 16 pounds.
What have you been doing to look and feel your best?

I’m really small already so on a normal “non-diet” day I can only eat 1400 calories max, because I’m usually pretty sedentary.
Right now I’m eating about 1300 calories a day and doing C25K with strength training on my off days 🙂

since Jan 1st, I have been going to an Anytime fitness.
I do elipticle for 20-30 to get my heart rate going, I work on lifting for back, arm and stomach muscles and then legs. I probably spend 45 minutes at the gym 3-4 nights a week. I run at least 2-3 miles, 2 times a week and have lost 117 lbs since! I am a toned and slim 124lbs.
I tried30 day shred, and just didn’t like working out at home. It gave me no motivation. I eat a lot healthier than i used to along with healthy smaller snacks during the day.

I teach Body Pump, so each release I up the weight I put on the bar for each workout and I always notice a difference in the tone of my muscles. I work out 4 days a week from running, body pump and cardio kickboxing to pilates and cardio fusion classes. I always feel blah when I don’t workout. I’m addicted I guess.
I always watch what I eat for the most part. So that’s a bit easier for me. Since I’ve ramped up the workouts, I’ve lost about 5-8 lbs. I don’t really have a goal in mind since I feel pretty good but I can always tell when my pants are a little big. WaHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I play ultimate frisbee 2-4 days a week (depending on weather, schedule, etc). Karate 1-2 days a week for 90 minutes, try to lift weights at least twice, and run (or elliptical if knees are sore / weather is lousy) if there’s any days left over. Basically it adds up to 7 days/wk though sometimes I’m on vacation and too busy to work out or I sneak in weight lifting on frisbee day.
I don’t count calories, but I’d estimate a typical day is around 2500 (approx 500 each at breakfast and lunch, maybe 100-300 of morning and afternoon snacks, and maybe 600-1000 at dinner including wine??). Counting carefully takes me straight back to disordered eating territory so I don’t, but I’ve found that I get into BIG trouble if I stop eating until full or not eating when hungry. It’s possibly I’m eating closer to 2000 or to 3000, but basically my goal is to avoid feeling either stuffed or faint at any point during the day.

I work out 5-6 days a week (45-60 mins of cardio, weights the rest) and eat a 1400 calorie diet. I log all my foods into a website & eat lots of veggies. I’ve lost 60 pounds in 7+ months.
I just had my dress fitting though, so I can’t lose more than 5 pounds in the next two months… then I’ll go back to my regimin after the wedding to get to my ideal size.

I try to work out everyday alternating 30 day shred one day and trouble zones w/ treadmill the next. I try to stay below 750-770 calories and 30 carbs a day

@sjones724, you might want to brush up on some basic nutrition and adjust your calorie intake. 750-770kcal/day is not effective for weight loss (or general health!). I don’t mean that in a critical way, but it’s very, very hard to be healthy on less than 1200 kcal/day.

My engagement party (read mini-wedding as it’s cultural) is in abour 4 months. I want to not only lose about 15 pounds but to tone up. I am already quite thin but I am the skinny fat type of thin despite swimming, running, and dance class. So my kick it into shape plan revolves more around toning and diet and is:
- Every morning – P90x (Note: Morning P90x rarely gets accomplished.)
- MW after work – training run + dance class
- TR after work – swim 1 mile + 1/2 hour rowing at the pool
- R afternoon over lunch – pointe class
- Saturday morning – swim 1 mile + 1/2 hour rowing at the pool
- Sunday morning pre-brunch – long run
- Sunday afternoon – tennis + easy 1 mile run to courts and back
- I also aim for 20 minutes of yoga every night with a longer practice Friday evening post-work and pre-play.
I tightly control my calorie count, eat mostly vegan (occassional dairy product when baking), no soy, no meat, no sugar, and no white flour (trying to cut out gluten but finding it HARD). I also rarely drink alcohol and limit myself to one wine spritzer or light beer if I go out. I log all of my calories also and rarely, if ever, eat out unless I have looked up the nutrition facts and pre-logged them earlier in the day. I find that logging my calories, though time consuming, really keeps me honest and on track, and I have been doing it since college. When I do not log the calories the diet falls out the window and I find myself ordering in Thai food everyday and drinking way too much Starbucks.
The luckiest thing for me is that I hate pizza, chocolate and most desserts and love my veggies instead! What can I say, bell peppers and brocolli and lentils over cheesecake for me anytime!

Miss Turkey– what website do you use to log your calorie intake?
@aimee: try SparkPeople, FitDay, or Livestrong for different calorie logs. I use an app on my iphone called LoseIt.

A few reps of crunches/pushups/squats in the morning, gardening/running/dancing/whatever during the day, stretches at night. And I have no idea what my caloric intake is. I just have a general idea of what’s healthy and when I’m eating the right amount.
I’ve been a lazy bum the past few weeks and excercized too little, eaten waaaaaay too much sugar/packaged food. I feel gross. Can’t wait for college to be finished! I’m looking forward to cooked meals, daily lunches, and eight hours of sleep a night!

@aimee: I have used several online calorie logs, and my favorite by far is http://www.dailyburn.com! It’s easy to use and I love the interface.
I’m not working out much right now (read: my wedding is already over 😉 ), but I watch what I eat and track all my calories. When my life isn’t super crazy, I do hot power yoga, but I haven’t gone in over a month.
