Our night ritual is that we always play an episode of American Dad before we go to sleep (yes..weird). In one of the episodes Roger has a character called “Dan Ansom Handsome,” and it’s one of our favourite episodes. So my Fiance is Dan Ansome Handsome in my phone with heart emojis beside it. When I’m at work or with friends or whatever and they see I’m texting a “Dan” with hearts all over it, they’re like wtf who is Dan?!!! hahaha

When I dated guys I never put their name in my phone because I would forget names or mix them up. So it was “the pilot”, “the engineer”, “the Dutch”, “the Swiss” etc. you get the idea. So my husband is still what he was back then 😂

I once asked him if it bothered him and if he wanted me to change it. He thought it’s funny and to keep it.

I don’t like nicknames in my phone. Besides Mom and Dad everyone has their first and last name. I tried a nickname once but changed it back.

I put first name and last name. And then under “company portion when you edit the contact” I wrote fiance. So when he calls, it says his first and last name but also a small font that says fiance.

He has a nickname, because well, I love his nickname.

I have four people with nicknames: Hubby, Mom, Gma and Sister.

    Everyone else is firstname lastname.

In my work phone, everyone is firstname lastname, including the people mentioned above, which I think attributes to my wanting something more “informal” than names on my personal phone.

My husband’s contact name in my phone is a combo of his name and my pet name for him. It’s “JP AKA My Hubbard” – Hubbard is our inside joke name for husband, obviously, because we like to garden and our favorite variety of squash to grow is hubbard squash cool

His for me is just my first and last name, which he updated with my new married name finally like a year after the wedding lol

In my contact list it’s his first name but his texts show up as “hubby” because I set that as his nickname.

My best friend has her husbands name in her phone as – the love of my life 😀 ❤️💩-  so when he texts her, since she has her phone set up to read who the text is coming from aloud, it says where everyone can hear “text message from the love of my life smiley face red heart smiling pile of poo” 😂. It cracks me up every time, lol.

The only people on my phone that are set up under nicknames is my parents and grandparents. I put them in my phone by the name that I call them. I call my husband by his name is real life, so that’s how I put him in my phone.

Amusing story about this.  Back before we were even dating, my husband had an Android phone that had been set up in part by someone at Verizon.  Apparently, the person at Verizon had somehow altered his name in his Google account, by transposing one letter from the end of his last name to the end of his first name.  So, when we connected via some Google service, it showed his first name with an extra letter on the end.

I started calling him that as a nickname.  (sometimes the first name by itself, and sometimes combined with the last name that is missing a letter.) He fixed his account, but I continued using it as a nickname.  I still call him it now all the time, 8 years later.  It is a weird nickname, but I do it without even thinking now, and people are always confused.
