mrsbalducci:  I’m a big diamond kinda girl, too. My first was a 2.02 Round Brilliant solitaire and my current is a 3.02 center (3.35 tcw) cushion – my ring size is just a 4, so I’m of the mindset that if you like big rocks, go for it whatever your ring size! I have a friend who had a glorious 2.3ish (I think) emerald and traded down in size because she kept seeing rings in the .6-.9 range that she thought were very classic and understated. She got tired of hers and currently adores the smaller stone and feels like it’s less flashy and better suits her personality.

you know there are times when i want to go bigger, i mean come on we are girls and we like shiny things!!! But then you know what, think about a really big diamond that you might have seen.  i know for me the first thing i saw (and only thing) was the big diamond itself.  The  band the mounting, nothing else really caught my attention.  But then I have seen a diamond that is in good proportion with the band and I thought WOW! that set is so romantic or vintage or elegant!  Sometimes I look over and the husbands band is unique and matches!  thats what I tried to keep in mind when i did my set (always hard though because i change my mind alot too haha).  you know… you could do a 1.5 not diamond center in a beautifully custom made set you love and then if you want to down the line just swap out the stone for a diamond if that is what you want. Maybe put most of your money in customizing the set of your dreams.  A stone is easy to swap later!

mrsbalducci:  lol – I’m like that too! Someone compliments my purse or whatever and I’m like “oh, I got it on sale at Express two weeks ago. They prob still have some online!”

My mom actually thinks it’s rude to say anything other than Thank You if someone compliments something. Her thought is that they didn’t ask where you got it or whatever, but I’m of the opinion that it’s snotty to just say thanks and that you share that stuff to let them know since they like it enough to compliment it!

Some of the ladies here have the most stunning AG or mossie rings – soooo pretty! I only have diamonds because 1) I didn’t buy them 2) I literally don’t wear any other jewelry, so I feel like my Fiance (and ex FI) feel like they have to make the one thing I wear ‘worth it,’ if that makes sense. *that might be a bad choice of words, but it’s late and I can’t think of another way to say it*
