mrsbalducci:  Don’t have a solitaire, but wanted to pop in and say ring shrinkage is real! I have a 2.2 carat AG in a super tiny halo on a size 7.5 and I love the coverage. I don’t think a 2 carat solitaire will look big at all on a size 8-9, would probably look perfect!

mrsbalducci:  I am a size R finger (8.75 in US) and mine is a 0.51ct heart brilliant diamond:

She appears more like a 0.75ct because she’s a bit more shallow. Which I think eases it, sometimes I look down and think… Wow she looks big and other times I think she looks small on my hand. Though I always love my ring, I think my stone is gorgeous, full of fire and sparkle and don’t think I have taken a photo where she isn’t showing sparkle. And the rose gold band is amazing.

But if I was being honest I would have liked her to be a little bigger but that was what we could afford with our budget and I am ok with that. I’d prob say my ideal size would be like 1.25ct to around 1.50ct. At the moment I’m looking at an Amora gem at these sizes to be my right hand ring and possible stand in.

My diamond is a little over 2 carats on a 7-7.5 finger. I sometimes think that my diamond looks huge but at the same time im 6’1″ and have freakishly long fingers so I might need a larger diamond to balance things out 🙂

mrsbalducci:  I’m currently a size 7 (I was a size 8-8.5 when I first started posting on the bee), and I would want a 1.5-2CT stone in a solitaire. I would actually love to put a 1.5ct in my anniversary ring setting, and it’s not even a solitaire — lol.

I have a london blue topaz solitaire that’s around 3.5ct, although it probably faces up closer to 2 or 2.5 because it’s cut a bit deep. I can’t remember the mm measurements for the stone. I love that size on my finger in a solitaire. But I doubt I could ever afford a diamond that large.

mrsbalducci: I’m a sucker for solitaires! When Fiance and I were ring shopping I was checking out some more off beat settings but always had the idea of a classic solitaire in the back of my mind.. I’ll let you guess which ring won 😉 haha To keep it kinda funky I decided against a diamond and went for a natural morganite instead- couldn’t be happier!

I’m slightly in between ring sizes (7.5 – 8) but prefer it a little on the loose side so I went with the size 8. The center stone is 4 carats.

my ideal size is 1ct. i’ve always wanted a solitaire and thought because it’d be the only stone it should be a nice big size but when shopping everything over 1ct seemed a bit too much for my personality. i ended up with a .65 or so and my finger size is 6.5. i do eventually plan to upgrade but i’ll most likely never go over 1ct. I have a 2 carat center stone on size 6 finger and I think if I had picked it out myself I would have gone with a 1-1.5 carat instead. The 2 carat is a little flashy and gets in the way sometimes but it is very pretty. I gave my Fiance ideas about ring styles but I failed to specify what size stone I wanted- oh well, I guess too big of a stone is a pretty good problem to have.

I wear a 6 1/4 but have bigger hands. We decided on a 2 carat stone. It’s a pear and i just couldn’t imagine anything smaller on my hand without seeing nothing but my big hand!

mrsbalducci:  I have a size 6.5-7 and I feel like a 1 carat is too big. But that’s my personal feel. I love my .5 carat or even a .4, anything under that would be a little small for me

1 carat. I thought I wanted something huge but I honestly think they look weird and unappealing at a certain point.

I have a size 6.5/7 finger (e ring was 6.5, wedding rings were 7. Both fit the same, go figure). I like the coverage of a 2+ct with tiny halo or 3+ct solitaire. I just looked at a 4ct+ antique cushion but gave it a pass in favor of a 3.2 ct. Too ostentatious for me but I suspect others (
