I’m a pilot. It was a lot of work, time, and money to get here like many other fields but every time I take off it reminds me why I love flying! Every day I learn something new plus I only work about 15 days a month. There are some long days and right now the pay isn’t great where I’m at. since my Fiance is also a pilot sometimes we don’t get to see that much of each other which sucks, but I couldnt imagine not flying. My goal one day is to fly a wide body aircraft and do international trips.  And can’t beat the free flights Of course! Looking forward to an awesome career

bananafairy:  It’s not really a career yet, but I just started as a teller at a big bank two weeks ago. I really enjoy it so far, but the teller position is just a foot in the door for me. I want to eventually do financial advising.

Studying social work right now as my second degree, and I am graduating in June! I have worked with a number of populations (the elderly, sexual assault survivors and allies, health services at my university campus, Aboriginal youth up North). right now I am at placement in Youth Addictions Counselling. I am leaning toward family therapy after my MSW.

I love counselling, and I love social work, its an amazing field. Who knows where it may take me, I am not writing off Policy in the future.

I’m getting my master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy.  It’s super interesting, but difficult, because you really have to do a lot of work on yourself and gain insight about your own family.  You have to be willing to open up to professors and classmates about what your triggers are, etc.  I’m in my internship currently along with classes and I feel humbled that I am able to hear people’s secrets.  However, I am also horrified by some of the awful things clients have been through and am afraid I won’t be able to help them.  I am constantly amazed by people’s resiliency.

I’m a pharmacist, doing my masters in hospital pharmacy, I love it! I wouldn’t do anything else! Sure it’s hard and I’m never sleeping, always busy studying etc. but I know it’ll be worth it in the end and I’ll be that much smarter and helpful to my patients 😉

I’m a nurse practitioner who works in a plastic surgery/cosmetic medicine clinic. I like the medical aspect of my job, despise the cosmetic/ sales part. It is so much more rewarding assisting a reconstruction of a person’s face after a car accident than tummy tucks and breast implants and botox injections. My coworkers are fun, and it’s a M-F job with rare weekends, no holidays and I’m hardly ever on-call, so it could be worse.

I am an engineer at a government research lab studying clean energy.  Most days I love my job and think I am so lucky to work with such a great bunch of guys (and they are all guys) doing something I find fascinating.

I’m a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (aka School Psychologist). I work in a public school district so I have a teacher’s schedule (well I work a few more days-200 days). I conduct ADHD, learning disability, psychological, and autism evaluations to see if students qualify for special education services. I also create Behavior Intervention Plans, do counseling and art therapy, and work with our behavior unit students who exhibit negative behaviors. I have a Specialist degree which is one degree above a Masters and one below a PhD. I love my job!

Commercial and Property Lawyer. I quite enjoy my work, but I’m not that enthused about sitting in an Office for 40 plus hours a week, to be honest.

I’m also a qualified secondary school teacher, but haven’t taught yet. One day I might take the plunge into teaching (perhaps part time), we will see.

I work in finance! I negotiate contracts for capital equipment- love it. But, it’s very adversarial so I find myself being an “arguer” haha. 🙂

I work for mental health court – we take eligible men and women out of jail and place them in various treatment programs while they’re on probation. I love it!
