Congrats on joining the Hyundai family!! My Genesis coupe is 4 years old and I have NO complaints, only love. Seriously the best car I have driven in my life. It is a solid company.

    Good luck with your financing!

I just bought my car a few weeks ago! 2010 Accord with almost 200k fewer miles than the 97 Civic I had been driving. The payment is $301, including a warranty, gap insurance, and about a million percent interest. $1k down payment. I plan on refinancing after a year.

This is my first car payment. I paid $1500 cash for my last car.

Love this thread. Im looking a getting a 2014 mitsubishi asx and im wanting to pay it off fairly quickly. It will cost me just over $700 a month to pay it off in two years with $$6500 down and 10.50% (you can see why i want to pay it off quickly).

I got my 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe in 2012, put $4000 down, and my payments were $330/month. Was able to pay it off entirely in about a year and a half (in an effort to pay off all my debts and save for our house down payment). Now I just put $50/month aside in a separate savings account and use that for any repairs/car work. I’m hoping to hold on to my car a few more years, and maybe turn it in and get something newer when we start having kids.. not looking forward to going back to making payments again though!

I pay $295 for a 2014 KIA Rio that I only put $2K down on. 5% interest (first time car loan – I’d bought my two previous cars cash). This includes GAP insurance. It was brand new with 11 miles when I bought it in 2015. I’ve had it for a little over a year. It is perfect for what I needed, a commuter car.

I used to drive an SUV but living in CA where gas (at the time) was over $4/gallon, I had to start thinking about how much I was really spending between maintenance, gas, etc. I worked it out to about $400/mo! Now, I’m paying about $50-60 in gas a month vs a week (granted, gas has gone down about a dollar/gallon).

We own our cars. I don’t care for cars or really driving, to be honest, so I have no desire to have a new car.

This thread is old AF but if anyone’s still looking for advice – I have a 2013 Mazda 2, paying roughly $280 per month over 7 years. I was only able to put $400 down (the trade in value of my old car) – I was trying to save up for a deposit but my old car sprung a dangerous fuel leak and I needed to get rid of it ASAP. I’m probably going to keep it after I own it outright rather than trading in, unless it’s got things wrong with it.
