The last stanza of Pablo Neruda’s Sonnet 17. I’m sure it’s even more beautiful in Spanish. I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where, I love you directly without problems or pride: I love you like this because I don’t know any other way to love, except in this form in which I am not nor are you, so close that your hand upon my chest is mine, so close that your eyes close with my dreams.

Not necessarily my favourite, but this is from The Fault in Our Stars lol. When I read it, I fell in love with it.

“I fell in love the way you fall asleep; slowly and then all at once.”

lim3: Aaaah, I love that song!!! Gives me chills every time…

Great thread!! We’re actually planning on putting antique gold picture frames with handwritten literary love quotes on all the tables at our reception, so this thread might come in handy! Here are two of my favorites, one from Wuthering Heights and the other one of my favorite poems written by Pablo Neruda.

Whatever souls are made of, his and mine are the same. If all else perished and he remained, I should still continue to be; and if all else remained and he were annihilated, the universe would turn to a mighty stranger. (Emily Bronte, Wurthering Heights)

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand on my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close. (Pablo Neruda, 100 love sonnets)

We’re all a little weird. And life is a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness—and call it love—true love.”

“I would rather spend one lifetime with you, than face all the ages of this world alone.” — Lord of The Rings

“All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.” — Charles Schulz

One of my favorites! All I Ask of You – Phantom of the Opera

My favorite loveish quote from Devon Williams (musician)

“Show me we’re not so tame. I want to know love is wild and I want to feel it. Seems like someone’s been taking that away. Been missing for so long.”

theatrejulia: from “murder in the city” (i know, not a very romantic song title) by the avett brothers:

“always remember there was nothing worth sharing like the love that let us share our name”
