deannamarie :  Iʻm a dana and Iʻve definitely gotten Deanna and all those others on a few starbucks cups.

I used to HATE it growing up cuz no one had it and it was a boys name in the 90ʻs (Dana Carvey) but as an adult i know so many itʻs like where have you all been my life?! I like it a lot as an adult.

I really don’t like my name. It’s not terribly unique or memorable and I don’t feel an attachment to it. I’ve hoped all my life someone would bestow a cool nickname onto me so I could go by that instead!

Also the nerd in me wants a more unique name for better SEO results for my freelance business. 😛

beesaredyingatanalarmingrate :  My name is Erica Leigh. I’ve always liked my name. I felt it was a “known” name that’s been used but it’s not overused in my opinion. I went to school with 2 other Erica’s. My Nana wanted me to be named Jessica. I like Erica better.

megkate87 :  lol I was waiting for someone to have my name! I’m sorry to say this next few stuff, nothing against you.. 😉

My name is Megan, I used to hate it a lot more that I do now. It’s so generic and I don’t think it fits me. Everyone thinks that I don’t remind them of a Megan. Not sure what that means but I agree. I hate, hate, hate that most people assume I have an H in my name. I don’t. Th H doesn’t make sense to me. It’s not phonetic and there’s no reason for it. It’s like the word knife. Why does it start with a K? I will say though that most people pronounce my name as Meg-an but my mom pronounces it like May-gen and intended for my name to be pronounced that way. But if that’s the case she should have spelled it Meagan. Idk I just really don’t like my name and find it frustrating.

Cheekie0077 :  Lol! My mom says the spelling with the “h” in it is the Welsh spelling (no idea if that’s true or not lol) and it was a nod to my Welsh heritage.

I have a somewhat unusual name, Anastasia only prounounced like ah-nah-sta-see-ya, instead of Anastasia like the Russian princess. Everyone pronunces it wrong but oh well 🤷🏼‍♀️ I just go along with it at Starbucks lol. I used to HATE it growing up I wanted a ‘normal’ name like all my friends like chelsea and Britney lol but now that I’m older I love having such a unique name! It’s a great convo starter anywhere I go 😊  I’m the oldest of 7 kids and we all have crazy Greek names, not sure if I will continue the tradition with my own kids tho.

My name is Janine.  I don’t necessarily love or hate it.  I do appreciate that its not super common and even when I do run into people with the same name they rarely spell it as I do.

I have a name where the typical spelling has an “I,” and my name has a “Y.”

It may shock some people, but I’m not traumatized by it. If anything, it’s a fun conversation starter.

Hardly anyone says my last name right on the first try. I don’t care- it’s easy enough to correct, and some people learn a mini foreign language pronunciation lesson.

I go by a nickname, but legally, I have the most common first and middle name in… well, probably ever: Mary Elizabeth. I hate it. I always felt like it was such an old lady name. My parents never planned on calling me Mary (and thus – especially before I went to college – it’s never felt like my name), so that gets frustrating with doctors, job applications… pretty much everything.

When I got married the first time, I got lazy and just changed my last name. I think, next time, I’ll drop Mary and be Elizabeth MaidenName MarriedName – which is an annoying amount of legal hoops and hurdles, but at least it’ll put the actual name I use (a variation of) as my first name.

My name is Kate and it’s common as hell. I was always known by my last initial at school except for two memorable years as Tall Kate. I absolutely hated it as a kid because it’s common and because I was Kate, not Katherine, so I couldn’t even modify it to Katie or choose my own nickname. As an adult – meh. It could be worse.
