-Lose 5-7 pounds and get more in shape by my wedding

-Plan my wedding without going insane

-Get closer to God

-Become a better girlfriend/fiance/wife

-Get better grades (last on the list. I pretty much want to aim for all A’s, which I’ve managed to get before)

-Get me and my Fiance finances in order and figure out where we are going to live

-ENJOY LIFE AND BE HAPPY!

I don’t believe in resolutions per se, but since my xmas gift was the elliptical I was hoping for, I’ll be getting fit as a fiddle!

Get a whole bunch of really expensive medical treatment done, no matter what.  It MUST be done.  Plus, work on my weight since I’ve recently had a thyroidectomy (part of my really expensive medical treatment) and the weight will be harder to lose going forward.

I’m getting my butt into shape and losing the 20 lbs I need to before the wedding. I also want to make sure I’m starting to really get healthy for pre-baby body 🙂

Also, I need to go and start getting my knees and shoulders taken care of. BMX racing and motocross are not good for the human body, take it from the girl with arthritis in her knees and shoulders at 21.

I’m looking at replacements for one of my knees and one shoulder, trying to put that off as long as possible. I have fluid that I have had for about 5 years now that I need to get removed in my knee. Peh.

Mine are to be more organized and to get my debt paid off. I’d like to pay my credit cards off by the wedding in June, but that’s doubtful so end of the year is a better goal I think.  I’ve been going to the gym and working with a personal trainer so I want to continue that and start going more!

My resolutions are to:

– Lose some weight before I say “I DO”.  Keep it off until I see the 2 lines on the stick.  Smile

– Be more positive.  I tend to get in negative “woe is me funks” that affect everyone around me. My life isn’t that horrible – in fact I got it pretty good (great Fiance, good paying job, nice house, good friends).  So it’s time to remember those things and have a better attitude.

– Cut back on the swearing.  I don’t swear like a sailor but I do drop the f & s bombs more than I’d like.  I don’t swear at work – so I can obviously control it.

After last year went to hell in a handbasket (thus killing pretty much all of my resolutions/desire to work on resolutions), I decided to set my sights on 3 simple goals this year:

  1. Run a 5k – I’m starting my training for that tonight! I’ve never done any running before, so I’m gonna use the Couch to 5k app to get myself started.
  2. Become fiscally responsible – I’m terrible at budgeting and overspend on the small stuff. I’d like to pay off my credit card debt and actually have savings in the bank (don’t even have a savings account ATM).
  3. Journal every day – I forgot yesterday, so I’m already failing this one, but I’m gonna pick it up tonight. My goal is to do either morning or evening journaling, just a little bit so I have a clear picture of what my year was like.

I believe in small changes versus big overtures… yeah, there will be some setbacks, but in general, it puts you on the right track – or at least has you thinking about things when it’s actually written down somewhere.

1) Cook more real meals – not just pasta with pasta sauce from a jar.

2) One small, simple new thing each day: painting my toenails, a new meal, a different walk around the neighborhood, etc.

3) Watch less trashy TV and read more quality books.

4) Stop buying unnecessary crap… and find frugal ways to spend my time.  🙂

5) Be healthier: eat healthier, drink more water, walk more.

6) Be more consciencious of the world around us: turn off lights when not needed, recycle, produce less trash, etc.

That’s it pretty much…
