Ours is PINK!

Well, the decor is all pink.

The furniture is cherry, and the actual baby stuff is rainforest themed! Since that’s all getting reused for future babies.

It’s not a view of the whole room, but:

I detest themed rooms. I dont like rooms or things that look super “baby” and prefer a room to grow over time/look collected over time..so that’s what we’re doing

@Ninteenthchance:   +1

we don’t have a theme really. It’s a pink and beige and cream color scheme. If I had to label it I guess I would say vintage glam? Super girly with a chandelier, crystal drawer pulls, antique baroque and distressed frames and decor, etc. it is definitely a room that will grow with her (assuming she is a girly girl!)

Also not TTC, but we’ve talked about a jungle theme, since my favourite animals monkeys, and his are lemurs.

We have two rooms to do. The girl room will have creme colored ruffle curtains, pale pink land of nod pillows, blankets, and rug. The boy room will have black furniture.

Children are so far off for us, but we both love sports & think a modern-ish sports [read: not cartoony or too in-your-face] theme would not only be cute, but functional for a growing child.  I also really like this furniture & think it could be repurposed for future children & with some pink could be modern & girly ..but who knows what that really costs & what what trends are in when we are TTC or how much our ideas change come the actual reality of children haha.

@Treejewel19:  I am not pregnant yet but we also have Thomas Kinkade Disney pics. I dont know if we will design a room around it but they will probably go in the nursery.

Just a note:

I have a friend who painted an owl themed nursery for their baby. It was really cute, and had a tree with owls sitting on the branches. After baby was born, the ended up having to repaint because baby was terrified of the mural. Or at least that’s what they think. After repainting, baby started sleeping better.

I have a color theme: Either white, beige, cloud pink OR white, beige, pale blue

And I want the furniture and decor to be elegant.

Here are some of my inspiration pics:

While they are babies I want the decor to be calming and serene. I read that that’s a better atmosphere for them in the beginning. Then when they get older they will be free to choose how they want to decorate!

@lolot:  haha fellow wildlife biologist here and we are so trying to do the woodland theme too. 🙂 We are having a girl though and keep getting tons of pink stuff. It’s a bit annoying. Ive even told my mom to lay off the pink and her response was “too bad” ugh. I’ve just started working on decor and the first thing I’m doing is making a quilt with a fox on it. 🙂
