I’m currently preparing to make choices for my wedding program and I’m curious to know what verses in the bible brides are choosing. Ive notice a lot of wedding go with the following.
Old Testament: Genesis 2:18-24
New Testament: 1 Corinthians 13: 4-13
What are you using?

Hmmm the only passage I remember having part of our “Wedding Message” was Eph 5:21-33 which also quotes Genisis (from the message bible).
And then had both as part of our vows.
And then had the blessing from Deuteronomy 28:1-14 before being announced as husband and wife.
We didn’t have “readings” though… but these were the verses we used =)

our Old Testament reading is Ruth 1:16-17 and our New Testament one is the one you listed – it may be considered generic, but FH liked it so i guess it’s popular for a reason! :]

We are using:
Old Testament: Gensis 2:18-24
New Testament: 1 John 4:7-12

our theme is Song of Solomon 4:9 – “Stolen”
and then the readings are from C.S. Lewis and his view on marriage…so good!

1 John 4: 7-12
We couldn’t find an OT verse we liked but Song of Solomon 6:3 is engraved on the inside of each of our bands in Hebrew (without vowel markings)
We did have a reading from Mere Christianity about the perception of love in a marriage. (everyone loved this one, typical Lewis pragmatism while still being sweet)
