I’m not wearing a white rehearsal dinner dress.  I don’t look so hot in white to begin with and I was also thinking I would like to re-wear.  I have such a hard time dress shopping, I’d hate to find a dress that fit/I liked and I’d never be able to wear it again.

I wore a white dress to my showers and I bought a nice white one for my bachelorette party that I took on the honeymoon. I wore a black one to my rehearsal dinner.

The shower dresses were casual–i wear them during the summer. But the nice white dress IS hard to wear. But i love and try to find reasons to wear it (company christmas party? check)….just not another wedding =]

I’m all for double usage in regards to dresses though. I am not the kind of person to purchase something I KNOW i will only wear one time in my life.

I’m not even wearing white to my wedding, it’s a really dark ivory/rum color.

I did buy a dress for my wedding shower, it’s a Maggy London dress, it was originally $200, but I got it on a sample sale website for $50.

If you want to find nice dresses for discount prices check out rue la la, ideeli, billion dollar babes  and gilt groupe. If you need an invite, just PM me 🙂 I also got my fiances wedding gift from Ideeli, it was a designer watch, normally $500, for $100! yay.

I did buy a rehearsal dress too, Ann Taylor, $100, but I got it new on ebay for $15, it’s two sizes too big so I’m having it taken in but even with that extra $22 factored in, it’s a fraction of the normal price 🙂

And I am definitely going to be wearing these dresses again. My best friends’ wedding is this summer, so I’ll be wearing one of these dresses then as well. They will work well as special event dresses too. I don’t  think I could justify buying a once-wear dress too (except the wedding dress!)

Why will you never be able to wear white again? You’ll get plenty of non-wedding opportunities to wear white. Apart from wearing white as a wedding guest (which is typically a no-no) you can wear white wherever you like. So if you do buy a new white dress you’ll be able to get lots of non-wedding use out of it. If you don’t, don’t worry, it’s not like your wedding is the only time in your life you’ll get to wear something white.
